Even though it's in my neighborhood, I went for the first time in about 30 years. It's run by an energetic elderly lady. It's surprising these days that smoking is allowed. I ordered a ramen set and gyoza. The ramen and half portion of fried rice had a simple Showa-era feel, and the gyoza was a little heavy on garlic and delicious. The taste, price, and serving time were all average.
View on GoogleAn elderly woman seems to run the place on her own. It has the atmosphere of a classic neighborhood Chinese restaurant. The menu isn't particularly extensive, but I think it's suited to people who want a hearty meal of rice dishes or ramen. I had a small fried rice and stir-fried vegetables. The fried rice seemed to be prepared in advance and reheated in a wok before serving. It wasn't hot, so it was easy to eat. Cashless payment isn't available. Bring cash.
View on GoogleMy first visit was during the daytime. At the time, there were no other customers whatsoever inside. There was no greeting upon entering, and the staff's response was passive throughout. The ramen served had an extremely low soup temperature (lukewarm), and no distinctive flavor whatsoever. Because both its value for money and the value of visiting are extremely low, I will not return.
View on GoogleThe tanmen has a peppery heat, but it's properly stir-fried and cooked, with a textbook flavor They make it efficiently, and although the interior is dim, it feels relaxing
View on GoogleToday, 5-1, the first day of Reiwa. I came to 八王子大和田 around April of Showa 47, so that was already about 47 years ago. My family often ordered delivery from this 幸楽 on Sundays. Her husband was still alive then, and he loved mountain-stream fishing. He often brought us yamame he had caught. Has it already been more than 20 years since he passed away? Their son was also one school year below me, but he is currently ill and isn't helping at the shop. This mother is apparently turning 78. Everyone has different tastes. But I love the food here. After finishing my meal, I talked with her about 大和田. Keep going, Mom‼️
