I wanted to try new (to me) restaurants around my hotel. I found this place on Google Maps, and decided to give it a shot. I tucked myself in at the end of the counter while the chef chatted with a couple on the far end. They were obvious regulars, and they had a good rapport with the chef. The TV was playing sports, which I didn't mind. Unbeknownst to me, I was seated opposite the fryer. Luckily, the restaurant wasn't too busy. Otherwise, I probably would have moved seats. The chef was also the bar tender, mixing vodka and sodas with lots of ice, and a purple syrup for the couple. We all ordered the same thing, and although I expected a bed of shredded cabbage, I did not expect it to be a mountain of undressed cabbage. The atmosphere also loses 1 star because the chef allowed smoking in his restaurant.

Came for their Tonkatsu and was not disappointed. Thick cuts that were juicy and coated with thin crispy layer of panko. Delicious. Family-owned for over 50years and boasts a rustic interior.

Very nice atmosphere with delicious food. No English so you'll have to know a little Japanese or be with someone that does.

何度か来店しています。とんかつが有名ですが 季節料理、海鮮なども提供しています。 私は呑んだ後に来店し〆にロースカツ定食をいつも注文しています。サクっとした衣に柔らかい肉、絶妙なバランスで間違いなく八王子駅周辺では絶品のとんかつです。お新香、ポテサラ、お味噌汁も美味しいです。 店内も清潔感があり、店主も気さくで、また来店したくなります。
