We visited for a meal following the interment of ashes at Takao Cemetery. We requested a budget of around 5 thousand yen per person. We were seated in a tatami room, but thank you for providing chairs for those with mobility issues. Every dish was delicious, including the sushi served at the end. It struck me as a lively restaurant frequented by local residents.
View on Google【Return visit】During the busy period on Saturday, it took over 30 minutes from ordering to being served. I was far too hungry. The white fish sushi was so tough it was impossible to chew. None of the other toppings had a clear flavor either, and they felt slightly too warm. The tuna had lots of sinew, leaving unbreakable strands in my mouth, and a fishy smell lingered around my mouth even after eating. The nori was also a little tough, far from that delicate, falling-apart sensation. I remembered it being tastier before, but on this latest of several return visits, the sushi felt mediocre. 【I'm glad they serve carefully prepared food even for a reasonably priced lunch.】 The temperature of the toppings, the flavor of the sushi rice, the balance of the sushi, the rich flavor of the chutoro, and the tender, distinctly flavorful white fish were all delicious. The thin rolls had a rich tuna flavor, and the nori was high quality too. I also appreciated the finely sliced cucumber in the kappa rolls. Even the set's salad contained properly prepared vegetables, and the dressing was delicious. The sweet shrimp head soup had a rich shrimp flavor and was no mere supporting act. The little side dish was properly delicious too. It made me think I could have this for lunch every day. B Lunch is also available as a good-value evening set, so it's nice to be able to enjoy delicious sushi casually. The shellfish were fresh and delicious too. The aoyagi in particular was tender and delicious, with sweetness spreading from deep within as I chewed. The torigai had plenty of that seaside aroma that puts off people who dislike shellfish, and it was delicious. I thought I'd try ordering the all-shellfish selection next time. The Japanese-style room has chairs and tables. I think this is another understated big plus. There are parking spaces for 2 cars at the back.
View on GoogleI had lunch around 13:00 at 金鮨 in front of Hazama Station, which doesn't have many reviews. There is also a large parking area in front. When I entered, they had just finished preparing for a lunchtime banquet, so the timing was actually lucky. Finished meal trays were lined up on the counter. Tea and a wet towel were served right away. Since it was lunchtime service, I ordered B Lunch with salad for 1500 yen before tax. After waiting 7–8 minutes, it was served on a tray. There were lots of items, generous portions, and it looked luxurious. It included 8 pieces of nigiri sushi and 6 pieces of rolls, salad, chawanmushi, and a simmered dish. I started with a sip of miso soup, then enjoyed the nigiri sushi. The top row had yellowtail, squid, tuna, scallop, and yellowtail; the bottom row had egg, sweet shrimp, salmon roe and flying fish roe, along with cucumber rolls and tuna rolls. The shiso-wrapped squid and scallop were delicious. The miso soup, simmered dish, and chawanmushi were delicious too. Thank you for the meal.
View on GoogleWe used this restaurant for the meal after my mother's funeral. They provided chairs and tables in the tatami room, so we could spend the time comfortably and at ease. The 5000 yen course was satisfying too. A hidden gem in front of Hazama Station.
View on GoogleVisited on Monday at lunchtime. The interior had a Showa-era atmosphere and a few groups of customers, but there was enough distance between them to feel comfortable. My wife had the sushi B Lunch, and I had the Ume unaju. The former was 1,650 yen and the latter 5,000 yen. The unaju had two layers of eel, tasted delicious, and was satisfying. The sushi apparently tasted good too. Above all, it's a warm, gentle place that reflects the personalities of the people running it. I'd like to visit again.
