Great Tonkotsu Ramen! Charming place, lovely owners!
View on GoogleDelicious and good service 😍
View on GoogleI went because I was curious about Oita tonkotsu ramen, a flavor I did not know, and because I like light tonkotsu ramen. The broth has no porky smell at all, just a pure, deep tonkotsu flavor. The noodles are slightly firm but absorb a little broth and have a chewy texture. The chashu was meltingly tender and delicious, with seasoning that did not clash with the broth. The owner has a craftsman's temperament but is friendly and easy to talk to, and I felt he really loves ramen. Incidentally, the owner told me that if you come at 4 in the morning, you can watch the preparations for making the broth. I ordered lunch B+regular rice+large noodles+an extra large egg, and it was 1500円. Considering that quality, it is cheap and outstanding value.
View on GoogleI did not know there was a shop in Tokyo or Kanto Where you could enjoy delicious, authentic Oita-style tonkotsu ramen. Until I discovered this place... I saw a shop owner's X post strongly recommending this place. I had not visited Oita for the past few years, so I came for Lunch on Saturday. (My actual visit was in early July 2024) When I arrived, a sign that looked steeped in history Immediately caught my eye. Inside, there was a Showa-era feel, or something nostalgic. Perhaps because it was Saturday, several couples Living nearby were there, and it was almost full. There were 2 seats free at the counter, so luckily I could sit down right away. An elderly couple runs the place together. My order: Shio tonkotsu ramen 800円 While waiting, I learned they would be returning to Oita in a few days And closing for about a week. If I had come one week later, I would have hit the temporary closure How lucky Then the bowl arrived about 7 minutes later! The noodles are medium-thin and straight. The toppings are chashu, boiled egg, bean sprouts, nori, and green onions. Unlike Hakata, Kurume, and Saga, The tonkotsu broth is clean and not at all heavy. Yes... this is Oita-style tonkotsu. The deliciousness sinks right in! I never imagined I could have this broth in Kanto... Fantastic! It is quite far from my home, But next time I would like to eat heartily. Thank you for the meal.
View on GoogleI had the tonkotsu ramen lunch A set for ¥1000. Careful preparation, from removing the bean sprout roots to the chashu, green onions, takana, and boiled egg, together with rich but not heavy tonkotsu broth and firm straight noodles, makes for deeply flavorful, very delicious ramen. I had the chashu men for ¥1100. It contains about 7 thick slices of well-seasoned chashu with a satisfying texture, making it filling. Changing the flavor with the finely sliced, tender beni shoga on the table makes it even better.
