I visited during a trip. It seems to be run by a Chinese couple. They seemed a little distant, but it did not bother me much. When I checked the menu, I was surprised that everything was cheap. I ordered a chahan and certain gyoza set for ８８０円 (tax included). It might have been related to how I was feeling physically, but I found it very salty.

This was my first visit. While looking on Google Maps for somewhere to eat around Nishi-Hachioji, huh? I found a shop already on my want-to-visit list. I do not even know why I had saved it, but I went anyway 😆 Judging from other people's reviews, the portions seem large I chose a large serving of pork belly and leafy greens chahan It is quite a lot 😅 The chahan is super hot. It does not taste heavily seasoned so much as strongly salty There was plenty of pork belly too I managed to finish it, but my stomach was absolutely full 😚

This is Fukuya, a Chinese home-style restaurant. I arrived a little early, so it was quiet, but people kept coming in. Chinese-language radio plays inside, and there is a smell of spices, giving it atmosphere. This time I ordered pork belly chahan. It is slightly salty, but generous and delicious. The set meals other customers ordered looked good, so I plan to try one next time. Update I have become completely hooked on Fukuya and use it for a reward meal after overtime. I realized the set meals are especially delicious. The rice portions are large, and it is good value. It is quiet at night.

Nishi-Hachioji is the best! So this time, I came for lunch at the Chinese restaurant Fukuya, about a １０-minute walk from Nishi-Hachioji Station! Honestly, considering the times we live in, the prices are cheap! But the atmosphere bothered me a little! I entered at lunchtime, and about ３ customers were already eating lunch! The person who showed me to my seat was the proprietress, the owner's wife of Chinese background! She handed me the menu, and I ordered the mapo tofu set meal with a large rice serving (８００円), perfect for a hot summer! Everything was fine up to there, but after taking my order, she returned to her seat and listened to Chinese-language radio at a loud volume, which was unbearable! It is fine to listen to the radio alone in your own shop, but with customers there, I wanted her to be considerate and lower the volume! The lunch was mapo tofu thickened with potato starch, with strong heat but little savory flavor from the minced meat and other ingredients, which was rather disappointing! Anyway, I poured it over the white rice, wolfed it down, and finished it! Well, my stomach was full, so I considered that good enough, paid, and left! I thought it was a Chinese restaurant where, despite the cheap prices, the good and bad points keep showing themselves! If you are interested, do visit!
