An absolute gem in Hachioji! café de la poste is a truly authentic French galette restaurant run by a French chef from Bordeaux and his Japanese wife — and it shows in every detail. The galettes are perfectly crisp, buttery, and full of rich flavor, just like in Brittany. The atmosphere is warm and intimate, with that unmistakable French charm and attention to detail. You can feel the passion and love that go into every dish and every interaction. A place where you can experience genuine French hospitality and cuisine. Highly recommended!
View on GoogleI recently had the pleasure of trying their lunch set (日替わりガレット), and it was absolutely fantastic—authentic and full of flavour. I also enjoyed their crepe (sucre et citron), which was simply heavenly. The staff were incredibly kind, and the atmosphere had a lovely French charm. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic French dining experience!
View on GoogleI stopped by in the middle of a walk, and it exceeded my expectations—it was the most delicious galette I've ever had. My wife had the galette with prosciutto, tomato, cheese, and bacon, and I had the cheese-loaded camembert galette! We shared and tried both, and this combination was the best. First, the moment it was served, it already looked delicious—the lovely aroma of buckwheat flour, the mizuna flowers arranged with vegetables (pea shoots?), the placement of the prosciutto and camembert... it was practically art (lol). The galette batter (made with buckwheat flour from Nagano Prefecture, I was told) was crispy outside and chewy inside, perfectly seasoned, and in harmony with the fillings, so it was delicious from start to finish. Since I'm currently off alcohol, I couldn't have cider or wine, but with a drink it would surely have been an even more blissful lunch. I also had the crepe for dessert, which was also superb and just the right size, so the walk home went smoothly too. I was lucky to find such a great restaurant. I'll come again♪
View on GoogleI stopped by on my way back from an event at Icho Hall. I had the summer vegetable galette and red wine. The galette had a crispy texture and was generously topped with summer vegetables—a very delicious meal. Run by a French husband and his Japanese wife, it's a casual place you can walk into without feeling formal. It was very comfortable. I'd like to come again at lunchtime. Thank you for the meal. C'était très bon.
View on GoogleFinally, finally! I made it while they were open! I'd been wanting to try the galettes here. They're really meant to be eaten on the spot, but I got them to go. From the 2 daily-special-type options, I chose the mushroom, and from the standard options, the most standard of them all, bacon cheese. I took 2 home. As written on the takeout container, I rebaked them instead of microwaving, and had them with wine! The batter is delicious. Next time I definitely want to eat in the restaurant.
