Free museum to show you what’s living in Takao’s forest and mountain. Animals, insects and plants. There is also a nice cafe in the museum
View on GoogleSuch an amazing project of education, art, design and understanding of nature. The museum is lovely and absolutely a must. It’s very close to the station so I suggest to visit as soon as you arrive. Museum products are also beautiful and well curated. If you check the schedule they also organize many events and lectures.
View on GoogleGreat information and insights about the nature and insect/animal lives on Mount Takao before or after your hike. Exhibits are beautifully presented and the space is nicely illuminated with ample sunlight entering the space. There is a cozy cafe inside the museum with great coffee. Air conditioning is comfortable and there are seats around for you to just take a rest.

View on GoogleGreat small museum showcasing the local area in both geography and plants/animals/insects. Really nice displays making it easy to see everything and a wall with local animals. Also has a coffee shop and a small shop. Easy access from the station with good toilets and friendly staff. Highly recommend.
