A neighborhood soba shop with a nice atmosphere. The ashitaba and shiitake tempura are delicious. The gyoza are meaty and tasty. Best of all, soba somehow tastes extra good when you're traveling lol

I visited Senryo, a long-established set-meal restaurant on Hachijojima. I ordered zaru soba and a half portion of katsu curry. The zaru soba was ordinary, but the katsu curry was delicious, nostalgic old-style curry. I was also surprised by the portion—it hardly seemed like a half serving. With reasonable prices and good service, no wonder they've lasted about 70 years. Recommended.

If you're eating soba in Hachijo, this is definitely the place! ※Well, there aren't that many soba shops Perhaps a new generation has taken over in recent years, because limited and experimental dishes now appear throughout the year. I feel there are more tourist-oriented dishes incorporating local specialties. The menu itself has been updated, too. The soba here is delicious, but my recommendations are the takuan and shaved ice lol Do try them!

A soba shop in the southeastern part of the island, near Occhogahama. It feels more like a general diner than a specialist soba shop. The soba is ordinary soba made with a binding ingredient, but the ashitaba tempura and thick shiitake tempura are delicious. Since the meal would be short on protein, the gyoza were delicious, too. It seems popular, and when it's full you write your name on a list. I visited around 11:30 on Sunday and waited about 30 minutes. The restaurant is spacious, so although it has air conditioning, it doesn't cool the whole place adequately and it's hot. A wide range of electronic money and credit cards were accepted.
