If you have time before departure, it is a good place to try local food. I had "Shima-pizza"(thin crust pizza with green pepper and dried seaweed on top) and green juice made by ashitaba. You need to purchase tickets to order foods and drinks.

A place to eat at the airport. I had the island sushi set. The sushi uses mustard rather than wasabi, but the mustard flavor isn't strong, so it didn't feel unusual to eat. The ashitaba soba in the set was tastier than expected, so I recommend it. I think fans of hegi soba will enjoy it.

Island sushi + ashitaba soba set, 2600 yen. A little pricey, but that's airport pricing🙆‍♀️ Apparently they have takeaway sushi, too, but it had sold out before boarding flight 2. Both the soba and udon are made with ashitaba, and I was pleased they come topped with ashitaba tempura. The person next to me was eating cold soba, and the portion looked substantial, so that seems nice for summer, too. It was before departure, but it wasn't too crowded (not enough to require queuing), and the staff were handling things efficiently. It left a good impression among regional airports. I'll stop by again next time I visit Hachijojima(^^)

I ate here before taking an evening flight home. The ashitaba soba was excellent. Although you can see the runway through the windows, they close at １６:３０, so you can't watch the flight arriving at 16:40 land. I wished they would stay open until 16:45. The staff had gone home before the 17:25 flight departed. You can't use this restaurant if you arrive on an evening flight.
