Family owned restaurant, very clean, and descent food with descent prices. Come and support local family owned businesses!
View on Google『Chashumen(¥930)』... Anyway, I couldn't get a proper look, but the clearly house-made chicken, pork, and vegetable broth and the soft, smooth flat noodles were ( ゚Д゚)YUM♪... By the way, the noodle portion was probably around 180 grams before boiling... I went in absolutely starving, so I thought I'd add some rice dish, though a little pricey, if it wasn't enough, but somehow this 1 bowl was completely satisfying today♪ Then the thinly sliced meat topping (6 slices) was a little dry, but had a light star anise flavor and aroma, quite unusual for this kind of place... The other toppings—spinach, seemingly commercial menma, and young green onions—were nice too♪... That 1/6 piece of boiled egg subtly reminds you we're in a time of soaring ingredient costs...(lol) Then the condiments and utensils, like pepper, came along with the ramen... There was no explanation, but I guess the lactic acid bacteria drink and kimchi (homemade?) were complimentary...(^_^; Anyway, the interior has only table seating and is bigger than I expected, maybe 20 seats... It's worn enough to fully soak in some Showa nostalgia, and the atmosphere is nice♪ Then, when paying, I got thoroughly caught by the surprisingly (?) chatty older couple (?)...(lol) If a neighborhood acquaintance hadn't come in while we were chatting, I probably would've been their conversation partner for at least over 30 minutes...(lol)
View on GoogleThe shop's name is now simply 「蓮月」, but the husband-and-wife owners told me it used to be 「蓮月食堂」. Still, mail arrives addressed to 「蓮月食堂」, and longtime fans seem to cherish it as 「蓮月食堂」. The menu used to work by customers picking the side dishes they wanted, but now it consists of dishes typically found at a soba shop. Inside the shop's glass display case, tableware from those days remains along with the memories. Family-run soba shops have become fewer in Fussa City too, so I hope it keeps going forever.
View on GoogleA diner in a residential neighborhood A Showa-style diner run by an elderly couple. The interior has table seating and is fairly spacious. There were a few prepared dishes, such as simmered dishes, in a glass case. The katsudon someone else had posted looked tasty, so I ordered it. The coating was quite crispy and delicious. I got a complimentary chocolate.
View on GoogleI visited Fussa to have my car serviced and found this place while searching for lunch on map. I arrived a little after 11 on Saturday. In Fussa, especially near Yokota Air Base, I find myself craving Japanese food, so I think this is an important restaurant in terms of both location and taste. The photo shows a large katsudon. 850円+150円. Compared with large portions these days, you might think it's a little small? But it's well seasoned, and the takuan is a nice touch. Above all, the miso soup with plenty of actual ingredients is so delicious that it leaves you sufficiently full. Next time I plan to have tendon. I chatted with the wife, who provides very courteous service, and apparently this restaurant has been going for around 60 years, since the surrounding area was still open fields. The Showa-era diner atmosphere (photo), the courtesy. I thought it was a very good place to enjoy the passage of time and the food.
