Despite the menu being in Japanese, I have found this to be my favorite sushi spot. I have enjoyed both the high quality sushi and professional staff who were patient to help teach me which dish to choose and try. Without a doubt this has been the most memorable dine out I've had in years. I highly recommend tasting the food and enjoy the atmosphere. I'll never forget this restaurant.
View on Google福生, 羽村, 青梅 Among the restaurants around here, I think this one offers the best balance of taste, atmosphere, price, and so on. In terms of taste, it might fall below the average of good restaurants in central Tokyo, but after all, there aren't any delicious sushi restaurants around this area. There are also places typical of small towns: nice atmosphere and high prices, but flavor that doesn't justify the cost, catering to people who don't understand taste but think expensive means good. In that respect, きみ竹 is well balanced. It's rooted in the local community, so it seems to have many regulars. That's fine for the regulars, but first-time visitors can feel uncomfortable somewhere dominated by them, so somehow I feel it's hard to go unless I know someone there. I wish the atmosphere were a little more welcoming to newcomers. This is strictly my personal opinion.
View on GoogleToday, 一葉's top restaurant pick☝️ In 福生市, Tokyo, a place known to those in the know, the sushi and fugu restaurant 『きみ竹』 The restaurant isn't near a station or in an entertainment district; it stands quietly in a secluded location That gives it an indescribably lovely atmosphere, truly like a hideaway From outside, it almost looks as if time has stopped only there… The interior is impeccably clean, and the clientele ranges from older people to families, with no groups consisting only of young people, so the age range is slightly higher First, beer and an appetizer Even this appetizer is already exquisite Then come shirauo, grilled oysters, seared hamo, hirame, and line-caught aji Everything is exceptional, showing the chef's discerning palate as he visits the market and trusts his taste when buying ingredients From December〜March, there are fugu dishes: tessa, zosui, hirezake, and above all, exquisite shirako Something I'd like you to try at least once I'm convinced the shirako here is the king of winter delicacies Back to the food: from chawanmushi to shrimp, uni, anago, abalone, akami, young kohada, and more, the blissful time continues Together with 白州 whisky, I enjoyed a midsummer night's dream Thank you, きみ竹!! ……As for the all-important price, it's a sushi restaurant, so it does cost accordingly, haha But it's perfect as a treat for yourself The menu changes daily, so please check it out directly with your own eyes and palate Everyone, have a wonderful time at きみ竹❤︎(。☌︎ᴗ☌︎。) I've added fugu shirako, the king of winter delicacies♡

View on GoogleI've visited 2 times. If you want to have a proper sushi meal, I think you'll be more satisfied having the chef make omakase nigiri rather than ordering a set course. A comfortable sushi restaurant.
