They collect and arrange their items very well.
View on GoogleJust under a 10-minute walk from Ushihama Station, it's in the same building as the Central Library in Bunka no Mori, and you can visit for free. The library was closed that day, so it was quiet. I was looking forward to the history section of the permanent exhibition, but there were few items on display, which was a bit disappointing. I wanted to see more detailed materials, but maybe those are in the library. The restrooms inside are spacious and clean. There are vending machines and a free water station. There's also car and bicycle parking, and I hear it's much more crowded on days the library is open.
View on GoogleI dropped by while cycling, but got a bit turned around at the Ome Line / Itsukaichi Line railroad crossing (lol) I was hoping for historical stuff about Yokota Air Base (formerly Tama Airfield)... too bad Among the other exhibits, the ones related to silk mills and sake brewing interested me. The memorable everyday items used in the Showa era are nostalgic.
View on GoogleI went wanting to learn about Yokota Air Base, but unfortunately there was nothing about it at all. Right now, in connection with the 80th anniversary of the end of the war, there's an exhibit of military mail and commemorative cups. Other than that, it's your usual permanent exhibition.
View on GoogleSeems like your typical Showa-era museum, but they had a local bicycle, which was interesting
