There is a wealth of material regarding Izu Oshima. Souvenirs such as ittobori (one-knife carvings) are also sold. Also, from time to time, works related to Izu Oshima are exhibited and sold. I visited here because they offer free rental of "Anko Neko" for up to 1 night and 2 days. You can choose from ceramic or durable FRP cats. Since it is also a coffee shop, while drinking coffee, I chose and read books by Mr. Tsuneichi Miyamoto from the abundant collection of materials.
View on GoogleI visited during the Camellia Festival season. There were no Anko Neko goods at the festival venue, but there were a few at this Fujii Kobo, so I stopped by. The exterior was interesting, the Edo Kiriko glasses were lovely, and the coffee was delicious.
View on GoogleThe materials are amazing! There is a group called the Oshima Nature Lovers Society, and the materials they have been publishing for many years are dense. Besides that, there are many woodblock prints, wood carvings, ceramics, etc. of Oshima, which is amazing. Conversations between locals were also heartwarming. (Bringing flowers, fixing the slope together) I wanted a plant guidebook for Oshima, and it turns out the plant guidebook published by the Oshima Nature Lovers Society was 900 yen. Of course, I bought it. It seems you can also drink coffee or cocoa.
View on GoogleThe carefully brewed coffee was delicious. The shop is a workshop for wood carving and art, so my eyes were also entertained. There were also Anko Neko (darn, I didn't take a picture). The Edo Kiriko glasses are also lovely.
View on GoogleA shop that deals in crafts and where you can drink coffee on the side. Since it's run by one person, it takes a long time, but the vessels were cute. The photo is caramel coffee.
