I went after work. There was no noren curtain and no prominent sign, so my first thought was, am I even allowed to go in? It seems to be a place mostly for regulars… There isn't much food to choose from. The prices are a little high too. ゆきもり, fried mochi with sweet-and-savory soy sauce and coarsely grated daikon, was delicious, and the gyoza were plump and tasty too, but maybe pricier than average? Also… smoking seems to be 🆗. I think they showed me to a seat? where only electronic cigarettes were allowed! But the counter area was full of smoke! Sorry, but I really can't stand cigarette smells, so I left pretty quickly.

A homey izakaya with delicious food ♪ It's about a 4、5-minute walk from 府中駅 on the 京王線. From 府中本町, it feels like about a 7、8-minute walk too. The restaurant quietly operates along 府中国際通り. Apparently, 府中国際通り used to be a very international street, and perhaps that's how it got its name? (There are several theories.) The exterior is mainly wood, with a calm feel. You can see the counter and staff from outside, so I think it's easier to walk in than you might expect. There are a few small level changes at the entrance, but you can enter smoothly. Like the exterior, the interior is mainly wood and feels clean, and there's a TV too, so it has a nice mix of stylish and homey. There are about 10 seats at an L-shaped counter just inside, and farther back, up about 2 steps, there are around 16 table seats. It seems able to accommodate both small and large groups, making it convenient to use. The menu has regular items and daily specials, and the regular oden caught my eye too. The regular menu includes various meat dishes, tofu, salads, fried food, and drinking snacks such as mentaiko. The daily specials also featured a variety of sashimi, meat dishes, and more. The pizza and yakisoba to finish the meal caught my eye too. It's surprising how extensive the menu is for an independent restaurant. And the mashed potatoes are outstanding, definitely one of the dishes you should order ^^b There's a wide range of drinks too, including beer, highballs, shochu, sake, and wine. Some shochu bottles can be kept there for future visits, so I think you can enjoy it for all kinds of occasions. For 4 or more people, there's also a 5500 yen course with 3 hours of all-you-can-drink that lets you enjoy everything らくだ屋 has to offer. Both the male and female proprietors are gentle and pleasant. A satisfying restaurant in every respect ♪
