Founded in the first year of the Meiji era, this long-established shop has remained dedicated to deliciousness for over 150 years, adapting its style to the needs of the times, from a wagashi shop to today's patisserie and restaurant. モナムール means「what I love, what I treasure」. It is a nice cozy café with a good selection of cakes and ice cream. I had the seasonal ice cream (mango) for 825 yen which was quite tasty.
View on GoogleI came here for sweets buffet. It was good. Many delicious cakes. There was one cake I liked a lot but for some reason there was no refill of it. The croissants were a bit dry and also no refill of the macarons. But still lots of food. For its price the quality was reasonable.

View on GoogleI went in for a break during くらやみ祭り, but the young female staff member was so nice that I decided to take my time over tea. I ordered a cake set with shortcake and tea (lemon), plus a separate ホワイトチーズ and tea (lemon). Although the place was full and there were takeout customers too, I thought the orders arrived quickly. The atmosphere inside was calm and very comfortable. There was only 1 toilet, and because of the festival, people were constantly coming and going. (Festival participants were using it too.) There was terrace seating too, and lots of people were using it on this fine-weather day.
