Considerably the best Okinawan restaurant in Tokyo.

An Okinawan restaurant. October 2023 We came with a reservation on the Saturday of a three-day weekend. About a 5-minute walk from the north exit of 東府中. The Okinawan food and drinks got us pleasantly tipsy. On weekends, reserving seems advisable (several people were asked when entering and couldn't get in without one). No smoking inside, but there's an ashtray outside beside the restaurant. Our second visit was on December 24, Christmas Eve, for a year-end party. We entered right at opening. It was Sunday evening and fairly quiet, perhaps because of Christmas. The fried gurukun was unavailable, so we couldn't have it, but we enjoyed the other food and drinks. The smoked Okinawan wild boar had a satisfying chew and was delicious.

Three of us, my friends and I, visited around 10 at night on a weekday. It's a place where you can fully enjoy Okinawan food, and the interior is clean too! The staff were kind and made a very good impression. It faces a main road, but the glass frontage makes the interior look attractive, giving the impression of a popular restaurant. For me, rafute is a must with Okinawan food, so I ordered it, and also tried shima rakkyo and sea grapes. The fried food? served as the appetizer was personally really delicious. The rafute seemed a little heavy on the fat, but it was tasty. I felt the beer wasn't chilled quite enough. It would have been perfect if it were really ice-cold! Many of the mixed alcoholic drinks are very sweet, so perhaps expanding the less-sweet options would make the place even more popular? I thought I'd share those personal impressions too. Overall, it's a very good place! By the way… I forgot to take photos and only took one rough shot^^;

A place serving Okinawan home cooking. It's popular, so I recommend reserving before visiting.

I made a group reservation. About 1 month earlier, I booked a food course with 2 hours of all-you-can-drink. After that, I called several times to change the time, change the headcount, and make the final confirmation, and they were pleasant every time. I called again just before going and asked, we're heading over now, is that okay? They said everything was ready whenever we came, so I went feeling reassured. But once everyone was seated and we tried to order our first drinks, a staff member said not to order alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks together because they'd get confused (already unreasonable and all about their own convenience). I said they could put everything together here and we'd distribute it ourselves, and thought that settled things, but the beer that should have come first never arrived. We couldn't get the toast started and ended up keeping everyone waiting. After that, whenever we tried to order another all-you-can-drink round, that staff member said refills required exchanging glasses, so we couldn't order until the glasses were empty. They checked the glasses and said, "It's not empty yet, so no." They kept taking away empty plates, and even removed the cutlery box containing chopsticks before all the food had been served. Every little thing was unpleasant. It wasn't only the drinks. Despite all those calls to confirm, another staff member said, "You haven't ordered food, right?" We'd booked for a group of 19, so obviously that couldn't be right. Then they found what looked like a reservation notebook and said it was a food course. I wish they'd checked with the owner before asking us. The food was delicious, so perhaps we happened to get a combination of staff who couldn't read the room, but I never imagined I'd feel this upset as the organizer. If they thoroughly improve staff training, I'll use the place again.
