Place is so terrible it's a joke that they can even stay open. Ordered a meat and vegetable sautee and there wasn't a single piece of meat in there. I told them and they couldn't care less. They had the audacity to charge me close to 2000 yen for fried rice and my veggies and meat sautee that was literally just vegetables! Not even a sorry from the lady. Avoid it like the plague.

I ordered ramen, miso ramen, and fried rice, and all of them were wonderfully delicious. The fried rice in particular was slightly strongly seasoned with a moist finish that scoops up softly, and the bamboo shoots in it added a nice textural accent, really delicious. The interior shows its age but is kept properly clean. The master looks elderly but moves quite nimbly. Glad I got to go before moving away.

2-minute walk from Koremasa Station, the last stop on the Seibu Tamagawa Line Going straight from the station, there's a building like a brand-new house with an old-fashioned sample display case, and the samples inside are quite well-aged~ Just after 13:00 on a weekday, I couldn't see inside but there was a figure... When I went in, the owner was reading a newspaper! The tables and chairs look well used, but are the counter and kitchen new? [Gomoku noodles] 830 yen... you can enjoy a variety of toppings [Medium bottle of beer] 580 yen (tax incl., as of July '26)... Akaboshi, very neighborhood-Chinese-diner First, a glass of nicely chilled beer It came with a free otoshi of refreshing lightly pickled cucumber The gomoku noodles arrive! Loads of vegetables: napa cabbage, carrot, bok choy, bean sprouts, onion, bamboo shoots, wood ear mushroom, and green peas; other toppings are 2 slices of firm chashu, a boiled egg, tamagoyaki, and kamaboko The soup is salt-based with a slight pepper kick The saltiness isn't too strong and the toppings make a good broth, delicious The noodles are medium-thick, wavy, yellowish egg noodles, chewy; maybe the first time in a while I've had this type? The service was on the reserved side, very much an old-school neighborhood Chinese diner

On the way back from a hot spring called Shiki no Irodori on the other side of the Tama River, I usually go to a nearby ramen shop called Akatsuki, but it wasn't open in the daytime, so I dropped by this Chinese restaurant next door. It's very much THE neighborhood Chinese diner, but I was surprised the interior was clean in a way you don't expect from a Chinese restaurant. I think they clean diligently. I had a basic ramen and gyoza. The gyoza are hefty, homemade-feeling ones pan-fried crispy in oil, but the garlic chives and cabbage come through so they're not too heavy. The ramen was simple, and the soup in particular tasted delicious. Wonderful. Next time I'll try the chashu noodles.

Introducing the moyashi-men for 680 yen at Chuka Ryori Marufuku, a neighborhood Chinese diner 30 seconds' walk from Koremasa Station on the Seibu Tamagawa Line, which I use when I go to hang out at the Tama River. My favorite noodle dish is moyashi soba. I searched the menu and found it! Here it's called moyashi-men. I order it with gyoza for 550 yen. When I ordered the moyashi-men, they asked, 'Soy sauce or salt seasoning?' 'Do you want it thickened?' Seems they'll make the moyashi-men to your liking. What a nice service, a first for me♪ I ask for my favorite: [soy sauce flavor, thickened]. The gyoza are very homemade-looking, 6 pieces. The filling wrapped in chewy skins has vegetables that keep their crunch. They're well seasoned, so they're plenty delicious as is, but here vinegar with pepper, su-kosho, is the perfect match! Simple, delicious, light gyoza. The customized moyashi-men looks so heartwarming with its 2 slices of naruto. Since it's thickened, it looks hot just to look at! Bean sprouts and pork. Carrots just for color. A classic moyashi soba. A strongly thickened bean sprout sauce. Mmm, irresistible! Tasty! Just my kind of seasoning. The tender pork is like an oasis. This makes me want white rice. So I ordered an extra half rice. They brought it right away with pickles. Putting the bean sprout sauce on the rice: again, irresistibly delicious! Glad I ordered rice. The noodles are medium-thick, boiled slightly soft. When you lift them, the sauce clings to them well. It's a light chicken-bone broth, but the sauce gradually melts into the soup, adding umami and richness for an outstanding soup. Because it's thickened, it stays piping hot to the end. My ideal moyashi-men. Grateful for this encounter I stumbled into by chance‼
