This is a solid soba joint. A bit on the expensive side for my taste but still an enjoyable experience. Worth a visit if you're in Fuchu and craving some soba I guess.

手打ち蕎麦 ほてい家” stands just a short distance from Fuchu Station. Step inside and you're enveloped in a very clean, calm Japanese atmosphere—a superb restaurant that feels like a hideaway for adults. ◎Access Excellent access, about a 3-minute walk from “Fuchu Station” on the Keio Line. Despite being close to the station, it isn't noisy and is well located for enjoying a relaxed meal. ◎Approach The restaurant is on the 1st floor. The approach from the road to the entrance is flat, with a considerate design that allows wheelchair users and those concerned about their footing to move relatively smoothly. ◎Seating The interior is spacious, primarily featuring calming wood-grain tables. There is room to relax on various occasions, whether dining alone, with family, or using it as an izakaya at night. ◎Menu In addition to classic soba dishes, the limited seasonal offerings are appealing. At night it is also well regarded as a “soba izakaya,” with carefully prepared individual dishes and selected drinks, offering a lineup that showcases the artisan's handiwork both day and night. 【What I had】 ■ 【Limited to 10 servings】Marinated red sea bream rice bowl with mini seiro soba (1,780円) One bite made my heart leap, and I couldn't help thinking, “This is delicious!” Marinated red sea bream rice bowl Fresh red sea bream trimmings from Uwajima are piled luxuriously and generously over rice. The rich, full-bodied sesame soy marinade brings out the sea bream's sweetness to the fullest, with seasoning that keeps you eating the rice. The wasabi topping adds a lovely accent. Mini seiro soba The buckwheat flour that day was apparently “Kanoya native variety from Kimotsuki, Kagoshima Prefecture (福田農園).” The neatly cut handmade soba conveys the owner's deep dedication, with outstanding rich flavor and a pleasantly smooth passage down the throat. Even the “mini” size is thoroughly satisfying. Small sides and other items It comes with a crisp salad (the special dressing is delicious!), miso soup, pickles, and even a refreshing Japanese dessert at the back of the tray (a warabi mochi-like sweet). The overall portion was truly just right, a perfectly composed set meal that kept me interested to the end. 【ーOverall assessmentー】 A clean, refined space, thoughtful and heartfelt service, and above all, exquisite soba and rice bowls that showcase craftsmanship. A wonderful restaurant offering great satisfaction in every respect. If you're near Fuchu Station and want “truly delicious soba” or “a quality Japanese lunch in a calm setting,” I definitely recommend this place. The set limited to 10 servings is a standout worth lining up for. I'd love to visit again.

The soba was delicious, as was the marinated engawa available only at lunch. The atmosphere inside was calm, and I enjoyed a relaxed time. The portions aren't particularly large, so it's not suited to people wanting a hearty meal. Recommended for those who want to quietly savor delicious soba.

Fuchu, Tokyo. Introducing the 1.650円 katsudon set at the popular soba restaurant 手打ち蕎麦 ほてい家 beside Okunitama Shrine. It's a popular soba restaurant, so arriving at 12 means you're bound to wait. Today I visited a little earlier, at 11:30. Even then, I just managed to get the last 1 table. More than half the seats were empty, with reserved signs on them. I was hungry, so I ordered a rice-bowl combination, the katsudon set. A full serving of katsudon with half-size mori soba. The katsudon set also comes with miso soup, salad, and dessert. The katsudon looked rather dark. As its appearance suggested, the flavor was quite strong. To put it positively, it keeps you eating the rice. But the cutlet was clearly over-fried.. It was bitter. Also, the large, almost diced pieces of onion were practically raw. Crunchily hard. The bitterness of the over-fried cutlet spread throughout the dish, making it rather disappointing... The soba dipping broth was so scant, only about the thickness of 1 little finger in height. Such a small amount that I wondered if there'd been a mistake. Maybe the thinking is, it's half-size soba and you're not supposed to dunk it thoroughly, so this much is enough! It is a strongly flavored Edomae broth, so to say it's enough, it certainly is. The soba was delicious, so perhaps I should have ordered tenzaru instead of a set?? Perhaps because miso soup was included, no sobayu was provided. Even if it had been, there was no dipping broth left, so it couldn't be helped... The well-pickled vegetables, kuzukiri dessert, and soba were delicious, so perhaps it was just an off day... The price is a substantial 1.650円, but I felt a little disappointed.... #府中ランチ #府中蕎麦屋 #府中グルメ #カツ丼セット #手打ち蕎麦ほてい家

The staff were very pleasant, coming over repeatedly to refill our hot tea! I chose the conger eel tempura rice bowl set, and the large piece of eel was crisp and delicious! Around 12, many customers were waiting, so reservations are recommended.
