Staff are very friendly. The atmosphere is very relaxed.
View on GoogleI wandered around looking for a quiet, calm place where I could read a book. I found somewhere that made me think, this is exactly it! It was about a leisurely 5-minute walk from the station. The lighting inside is dimmed just enough, creating a gentle, mellow atmosphere. Many long-established, quiet places like this have heavy cigarette smoke, but that wasn't the case here, so I was able to enjoy reading without trouble. The seats aren't all lined up in the same style and direction; they're divided between the back and front, which I think also adds to the comfort. I was curious about the cakes, which are apparently carefully sourced, but I had plans afterward, so I just had the blend black. It had a fair amount of acidity and tasted a little distinctive to me. But it was delicious on its own. Payment is cash only, so cashless users should keep that in mind.
View on GoogleI was going to Okunitama Shrine, so I'd been looking for coffee shops around Fuchu Station on Google Maps from the start, and came after seeing the atmosphere and toast photos. I waited for the 11 o'clock opening before entering. There were no other customers, so I could sit at the back. The toast is thick, and you spread the butter yourself. It was light but moist, pairing well with the strong, punchy iced coffee. There are 2 kinds of hot sandwiches, piping-hot tuna and curry. The tuna is light, and the curry is mild with chunky fillings. These also go well with the strong iced coffee. The side salad had ginger, so perhaps a little spicy? The konnyaku cake I forgot to photograph wasn't sweet, and neither was the whipped cream served with it; together they were incredibly delicious. The food really is designed around the coffee. The atmosphere is the quintessential traditional coffee shop. You can relax. (I think if you go early.) They seem to hold jazz performances occasionally.
View on Google◎Access There are about 2 low steps at the entrance. I think the handrail shows how beloved this place is by older customers. Step inside and a warm, somehow nostalgic retro space opens up before you. I spent a peaceful time here. ◎What I had this time ■Hot sandwich (with salad): 650円 What surprised me was how delicious the bread used for the hot sandwiches was. Looking at the menu, it turns out to be a carefully selected bread ordered from a bakery in Akita. The surface was lighter and crispier than I imagined, and amazingly easy to eat! This wonderful texture brings out the fillings. There are 2 fillings: “tuna cheese” and “beef curry.” The curry in particular has unusually large chunks for a hot sandwich, showing the owner's playfulness and care. The accompanying salad with shiso dressing adds a refreshing accent and pairs perfectly. ■Hirosaki apple pie: 600円 A luxurious Hirosaki apple pie full of fruit fragrance Dessert is a carefully crafted creation by a pastry chef from Hirosaki. It's served cold, which works beautifully. The light, crisp pastry combines with surprisingly juicy, fragrant apples, bringing happiness with every bite. ■Iced tea: 650円 The tea served was wonderfully fragrant♪ 【ーOverall assessmentー】 The amber-lit interior makes you forget the city's bustle. It's a lovely place where every ingredient has a story and is served with care. As you enjoy food that reflects meticulous work, gentle moments pass in a way that could make everyone happy.
View on GoogleThe interior is dim with a bar-like atmosphere, and classical-sounding background music makes it relaxing. It might be a little too dark for reading. I ordered a hot sandwich and Keyaki Blend (coffee). There are 2 kinds of hot sandwiches, tuna and curry. They were served piping hot, generously filled, and delicious.
