Visited on a weekday, Tuesday, around 12:30. You pour your own cold water and then order. Ordered tanmen and fried rice. It had that old-school neighborhood Chinese diner taste, and I really enjoyed it. Seeing a local 7th grader come in alone and order fried rice, gyoza, and orange juice like a regular, I could feel the good atmosphere of the place. It was still busy even past noon. *Came back on Tuesday at 13:00 Ordered omurice 600 yen and gyoza 450 yen. Delicious. And popular.
View on GoogleA typical neighborhood Chinese diner in a residential area. Solid flavors just as I'd hoped, really delicious. I had fried rice, stir-fried meat, and beer. First came a well-chilled large bottle of Kirin Lager and some pickles. This large bottle is 550 yen. While I was enjoying the cold beer with the pickles as a snack, the boldly seasoned stir-fried meat and vegetables arrived. True to the name 'meat stir-fry,' there's a fair amount of sweet pork in it too. A thick, savory, really delicious drinking snack. About halfway through, the fried rice arrived. It looks simple, topped with nostalgic green peas. It has a lard aroma and solid seasoning, also perfect with beer. Sitting at the counter, you hear the wok go clang-clang, clang-clang almost noisily as they stir-fry hard, and it's a very nostalgic taste with plenty of oil and salt. When both dishes, all three including the beer, live up to expectations like this, it makes me happy. It's a 20-minute walk from the south exit of Kunitachi Station, but it was worth walking in the heat. There's also parking for just one car under the steel tower if you turn left into the alley one before the restaurant, but I think working up a sweat and going for a daytime drink is nice too. I'd been once before and remembered it being delicious, and I was sure a revisit would be a safe bet. Last time was Sunday lunch, it was crowded and I waited quite a while, but today I went on a weekday around 1120 and was the first customer. Recommended for people who love nostalgic neighborhood Chinese diners. Thank you for the meal.
View on GoogleCash only. When I went in around 13:00, it was almost full. The gomoku fried rice tasted sour on the first bite and I went '?', but it had red pickled ginger in it, so I realized that was why; it didn't reach my ideal fried rice. The ramen and gyoza were utterly ordinary. The prices are cheap, so that was a plus. The owner was running it single-handedly, so while cooking, the phone rang but went unanswered. The place definitely had plenty of Showa-era feel.
View on GoogleSatisfied with everything!! THE neighborhood Chinese diner!! I had wonton noodles, fried rice, and gyoza. The wonton noodles have a light, clear broth, yet it's a carefully made soup where you can taste a solid vegetable umami afterwards♪ The wontons have a nice chewy texture and slide down smoothly♪ The fried rice is truly classic style, moist and separating just right. The green peas on top are classic style too. The gyoza might divide opinions, but they're the kind I like, with plenty of garlic, also classic style. The place has 2 tables and about 7 counter seats, and running it solo must be tough, but wow~ such impressive efficiency!! True craftsmanship!! It was fun watching the cooking. Even while working so busily, the owner chats with customers who seem to be regulars, in a gentle tone, which is pleasant! A really good place. Lastly!! The prices are cheap!! Made so carefully and yet that cheap!! Amazing. I was told they're only open for lunch, and at night it's delivery only.
View on GoogleNeighborhood Chinese diner. Payment is cash only. It seems the owner runs it alone. 4 counter seats and 2 tables for 6. I went just after 12:00 and it was almost full. Water is self-serve. The owner handles orders with practiced hands. Don't expect much in the way of service. Apart from bringing the food, it's pretty much self-service! A place full of Showa-era vibes
