A restaurant in an old traditional house that you wouldn't discover just by happening to pass by. It has recently appeared in various media, so I imagine many people learned about it that way. There are parking spaces for 4 cars out front, but apparently there is also temporary parking across from the restaurant, so if it's full, you could ask the staff to direct you there. Passing through the noren bearing a family crest of an upright arrowhead plant inside a circle, you find a lovely garden with a pond and an old traditional house. It feels like visiting a home in the countryside. Inside are regular tables and tables on a raised floor. After taking off your shoes and stepping up, you'll find an irori hearth in the center, giving it a Japanese atmosphere. I ordered the recommended “grilled pork belly plate” with the drink+cake set. I enjoyed a lunch with touches of Korean cuisine. Many people probably visit by car, but parking isn't particularly plentiful, and they don't accept reservations, so if driving, I recommend choosing your day and time carefully.
View on GoogleI'd been curious about this place for a while, so I went for lunch. It features Korean-style lunch dishes. The grilled pork belly plate was apparently shown on TV, and you eat it by placing various ingredients on Chinese cabbage. Toppings such as sesame oil, miso, and kimchi come with it, and they're all delicious. You can arrange the ingredients on the cabbage to your liking and enjoy the perfect bite. The anmitsu & coffee for dessert also had a lovely balance of sweetness and bitterness, making for a happy time. I'd like to go again.
View on GoogleA cafe on the edge of Fuchu. From Higashi-Fuchu Station, take the Chu Bus and get off at Wakamatsu Bosai Center; it's right nearby. It's described as a Korean restaurant, but it feels more like a healthy vegetable restaurant or cafe. The staff are pleasant, and the space makes use of an old building, making it very relaxing. The parking lot fills up with 2 or 3 cars, so if possible, it might be better not to drive. Mount Sengen is a short walk away, and at this time of year (month 5), the Musashino kisuge flowers, a designated natural monument, are a highlight. Having a delicious meal and then taking a leisurely walk was lovely.
View on GoogleVisited for lunch on Marine Day. About four cars can park in front of the restaurant, but unfortunately it was full, so I parked in a paid lot about 200 meters away on Hitomi Kaido. It costs 200円 for 40 minutes. Judging by the restaurant's atmosphere, you might expect Japanese food, but it actually mainly serves Korean-style dishes. This time I had the bulgogi lunch. The seasoning was on the spicy side and very delicious. It was 1250円 with a drink.
View on GoogleI went for lunch at “茶寮おもだか,” an old-house cafe that's recently been getting attention on TV. Parking only accommodates about 4 cars in front of the entrance. Although it opens at 11, several people were already waiting 30 minutes beforehand. Inside, there are tables beside the entrance, while only those with reservations take off their shoes and sit in the raised area. The owner is Korean, and the lunch set meals are Korean too. Quite delicious. The coffee and cake are good too❗️
