Visited during weekday lunch. Close to 平井駅 on the JR総武線, with customers arriving one after another. A curved counter is on the left as you enter, with tables for 4~6 farther back. I thought that was all, but there were 3 round Chinese tables farther inside, past the register. Lunch consists of sets: half-size ramen with a choice of soy sauce, salt, or tantan flavor, paired with fried rice, a Chinese-style rice bowl, or a mapo tofu rice bowl. There was a yakisoba set too. This time I ordered salt ramen and a mapo tofu rice bowl. The broth was fairly salty, with gently wavy noodles. I appreciated the generous mapo tofu over the rice. I also ordered pan-fried gyoza. The chewy wrappers and juicy broth bursting out made them delicious. Rather than a neighborhood Chinese eatery, it felt like a place to enjoy authentic Chinese food cheaply. Note that the entrance faces 蔵前橋通り, so be careful when following Googleマップ.
View on GoogleI came for daytime drinks; there were plenty of individual dishes, and everything was delicious. Customers kept arriving. Perhaps it's a local favorite.
View on GoogleThe flavors were more refined than a neighborhood Chinese eatery's, and delicious. Noodles and rice can be ordered in half portions.
View on GoogleChinese restaurant 『夢蘭』, highly rated on Google maps. Visited for New Year's lunch. It was quiet, though apparently there was a party in the back room. Ordered 油淋鶏コーン炒飯1595円+soup 50円, and 海鮮焼きそば1485円. The fried rice was strongly seasoned with a garlic aroma. The soup had a sweetish soy sauce flavor. The seafood yakisoba had springy shrimp and squid and light seasoning. Mixing it with the fried rice made it just right. Thank you for the meal. Month 1, year 25
View on GoogleArrived around 12:30. There are 4 booths and 3 seats at the curved counter. I was shown to a booth without waiting. Ordered the seasonal 海鮮柚子湯麺. The bowl didn't take long to arrive. The seafood was shrimp, squid, and scallop meat. The large shrimp were satisfying. Plenty of vegetables too, in a thickened sauce over the soup and noodles. The flavor is gentle, carefully balanced so nothing stands out too much. Subtle yuzu, seafood that doesn't dominate, restrained saltiness: a harmonious flavor with no single sharp note. In a good sense, gentle; in a bad sense, indistinct. Those wanting a distinctive kick might find it lacking, but pepper goes well and could add an accent. Personally, I was very satisfied. Extra noodles cost another 220円, but the regular serving is plenty. And it really warms you up. No wonder it's limited to the cold season. Tax is extra.
