I'd been eating my way through okonomiyaki places around the Tozai Line Kasai to Toei Shinjuku Line area, and I finally came across a delicious one! Definitely coming back!! It's not in today's photos, but the Akashi-yaki is also incredibly delicious. Recommended! The teppanyaki is a must, and it goes great with drinks. The tonpei-style has no cabbage, but it's loaded with squid and other fillings. Great value! What I really want you to eat is the okonomiyaki. Even though they don't use yamaimo or anything, the owner grills it carefully, taking their time. Both sides are nicely seared, but it's carefully steam-grilled so the inside is fluffy and light. It just keeps going down. To finish, monja. Whatever you order is tasty. The drinks keep flowing too. Locals were often coming in to buy okonomiyaki for takeout. If there's just one drawback, it's that you keep reaching for more and end up eating a lot. You get scared of the bill, but it's surprisingly... cheap!!! There were two of us, and for 5,000 yen we left full and pleasantly tipsy.

Dotonbori had closed, so my spouse and I came to this nearby place for the first time, early in the evening. At the counter there was just one other customer, a man who seemed to be a regular (a bit drunk, talking loudly with the owner the whole time) At a table we ordered beer and grilled items (sausages, asparagus butter), and then, to our surprise, the owner put a lid over the griddle on our table. Apparently everything except monjayaki is cooked by the owner in the kitchen before being served!! At an okonomiyaki place with griddles built into the tables?? Isn't the whole appeal of an okonomiyaki place getting to eat things cooked the way you like?? Sure enough, the sausages weren't cooked the way I like and weren't tasty. So we decided to order monja so we could use the griddle and re-grill the asparagus and sausages. The red pickled ginger monja was apparently already seasoned, but nobody told us, so we poured Worcestershire sauce on it and it was salty. The edges of the griddle never warmed up. Around this point our mood started to sink. I'd been looking forward to the Hiroshima-yaki, so I asked if I could cook it myself on the griddle, and the answer was “We'd have to set up the whole cooking kit over there, so we'll cook it here.” Huh...?? Isn't that what an okonomiyaki place is supposed to be?? You cook it in the kitchen because it's a hassle for you?? If they were busy, fine, but by then we were the only ones there. Within 5 minutes, two women who seemed to be part-timers showed up for work. The owner and the part-timers chatted at the counter the whooole time. If you're that free, couldn't you have just listened to our request?? The part-timers were unfriendly, and the Hiroshima-yaki we reluctantly ordered didn't have enough sauce, the yakisoba inside had no flavor, and there was just a paper-thin egg perched on top. The squid in it was tough, and I have absolutely no idea what the point is of insisting on cooking it in the kitchen. It's less about standards and more that they can't be bothered, I guess. If at least it tasted good I could accept it, but it wasn't tasty at all. I think they should either stop calling themselves an okonomiyaki place or put up a notice about this at the entrance. I'm never going again.

Nothing special about it, but good value and close by, with all kinds of flour-based dishes, and you can even get Akashi-yaki — a nice find.

I'm Korean~ If you're looking for a restaurant with a local feel, I recommend it! The atmosphere is so warm and lovely. And of course the food is really delicious too! There's no Korean menu, but I think translating it with Papago would work. I had Akashi-yaki and okonomiyaki. The Akashi-yaki is moist inside and bouncy outside~

A locally beloved okonomiyaki & Akashi-yaki shop! The okonomiyaki and yakisoba are superb, and you wait while snacking on hiyayakko and asparagus butter. The alcohol is really cheap, so I ended up drinking too much lol. Thanks for the meal*°
