A yakiniku place I'd been curious about for a while Went at lunch just before 12, and it was pretty empty Ordered the jumbo lunch. My first impression: the meat is cut big and there's a good amount of salad. Especially since the chicken takes a while to grill, I figured the idea is to eat the salad in the meantime. The meat tasted good overall. The salad too. The portion looks small but it was actually just right. I think 1200 yen for this is cheap.

Along Kan-nana in Nakakasai, Edogawa-ku. A yakiniku restaurant that opened in August 2021, 900 m from Kasai Station on the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line. It was originally 300 m from Kasai Station, but the building it was in was demolished due to age, and after a gap of a few months it moved to its current spot. A down-to-earth place run by an energetic owner and a somewhat strong-willed-looking woman (his wife?). At lunchtime they offer lunch sets like the kalbi lunch for 700 yen, kalbi & harami lunch for 850 yen, and jumbo lunch for 1,000 yen. All prices exclude tax. This time I had the jumbo set. Three kinds of meat—kalbi, harami, and chicken—plus kkakdugi, namul, sunny lettuce, and namasu come in a jūbako box, with rice, soup, and a soft drink. Given the price, the meat quality is so-so. They also have premium kalbi. The female staff member changed the grill as soon as customers left and wiped the tabletops with alcohol. All seats are 4-person tables, but apart from 2 tables in the tatami area, there's decent space between tables, so it might be OK for a family meal even during COVID. That said, the row of shochu bottles on display bothered me.

Went for dinner on a Sunday night! Just under 10 of us women ordered whatever we wanted, ate well, and it came to about 3,000 yen per person (no alcohol). About 750-1,300 yen per plate. It's lively, so I think it's a place for groups. There was bicycle parking. Didn't check for car parking💦 Of course it can't beat high-end yakiniku places, but the meat is thick and juicy, way better than chains in the same price range. No photo, but I especially recommend the nakaochi kalbi🤤 It comes as a chunk, so you cut it with scissors after grilling. The owner was really friendly! The woman is probably Korean or Chinese? She's brisk, so some people might find her cold, but when we talked she looked out for our bags and table and was kind! There are plenty of seats so it's relatively uncrowded, and I'm so grateful it's easy to book even for a decent-sized group…😭!! I want to go again with friends😌

It was lunchtime, but I wanted to try a range of things, so we got the premium meat set and the horumon set. Apparently kimchi, namul, etc. only come with the lunch sets, so we ordered a kimchi assortment separately. Conclusion. Since I went at lunch, I should've just had a regular lunch set… Probably because it wasn't prepped, everything except the liver was rock hard. The quality wasn't worth the price of over 6000 yen for 2 people. If I'd had something like the regular 850 yen kalbi lunch, maybe my rating would be different.

Authentic Korean yakiniku Ordering is smooth and fast! The yukgaejang soup is on the spicy side The meat was delicious too! There's parking nearby, but it fills up fast!
