Old school Japanese restaurant. Great price, great tasting miso ramen set lunch.
View on Google2025,10 I've been curious about this Chinese restaurant for a long time. But when I looked closely at the menu, it's a 'whatever' kind of restaurant that serves not only Chinese food but also soba, udon, and even sashimi sets. What I ordered today was the swordfish butter grill, ham katsu, and amberjack sashimi set, and the price was 800 yen✨ When the set arrived, the amberjack sashimi was thinly sliced but looked delicious! The ham katsu was a small commercial-grade one, and when I tried the swordfish butter grill, the edges of the fish were as hard as rubber—it felt like, 'What is this?' Maybe it's swordfish that got freezer burn? So the center was edible, but it was mediocre. I'm curious about other things, but what should I do? Should I try eating here just one more time? Oh, and this place still allows smoking inside nowadays😭 It's unbelievable, but even though it was crowded, there was an ashtray left on the counter seat where someone had been smoking. It's the worst. It stinks.
View on GoogleI've been curious about this place for a loooong time. There were two people waiting for the 11 AM opening besides us. It was a cold day so I was curious about the mapo noodles, but I have to try the one with the restaurant's name on it! So I ordered the 'Ran-en-men'. As soon as it arrived, it had a garlic aroma. The soup was a perfect spicy soy sauce flavor. The pork was savory and good! It makes sense that the people at the counter seats were eating the ginger pork set. Next time, it's ginger pork for sure (lol). It's great that you can order gyoza by the piece! ⭐️Update⭐️ I've visited many times since then, and it's a lifesaver when I don't have the energy to cook dinner! Today I had the umani soba. My friend had the gomoku soba and the sashimi set. Thank you for the meal (‐人‐)
View on GoogleRamen 500 yen + Large portion 100 yen I had 3 appointments today. Den-en-chofu Ota-ku -> Nishi-kasai Edogawa-ku -> Hon-komagome Bunkyo-ku. Lunch here, on the outskirts of a housing complex in Nishi-kasai, Edogawa-ku. It looked empty from the outside, but when I entered, more than half the seats were filled with customers. I sat at the counter and ordered 'Ramen large portion'. Other customers were ordering the 'Ramen' with a rice set. The kitchen is operated by an old man and his daughter. Not only Chinese food, but udon, soba, sashimi sets, and Western menu items are also available. It's truly a dining spot. 'Ramen' was handed over directly from the kitchen. Wow, unlike yesterday's ramen, there is very little oil in the soup. Such changes are actually pleasing for someone like me who eats ramen every day. It's more of a Japanese-style ramen. The soup is a soy sauce flavor with plenty of seasoning and monosodium glutamate. They were boiling the broth in a large pot, and it seemed like a Japanese-style broth made from kombu, dried shiitake mushrooms, and chicken bones. It's light and delicious. The noodles are medium-thick square-cut noodles, and the surface is quite smooth. The doneness is a bit soft, but it goes down easily and is delicious. The noodle portion is about 1.5 servings, so it's on the lighter side. Toppings are pork loin chashu (boiled pork), menma, nori, spinach, and green onions. The spinach is not frozen, it's well-boiled and surprisingly plentiful. By the time I finished eating, regular customers started coming in one after another. I paid before it got crowded and left. Ramen with a clean aftertaste, thank you for the meal. My stomach feels light today! It was very delicious.
View on GoogleA combination of the father, daughter, and mother who move busily! The prices are affordable and reasonable, and on top of that, the fish is delicious! From ramen to tsukedon, gyoza, sashimi, and tempura, Ran-en has it all.
