A lovely, intimate atmosphere. We didn't have to wait long to get a seat. The staff were very kind and helped us out with the menu; they spoke a fair amount of English so even if you have next to no Japanese language skills, fret not. The space is small so expect to share tables. Also, remember to bring cash; it is the only accepted method of payment. We got their signature abura soba ramen with gyoza on the side. IT WAS DELICIOUS! It was nice, warm, and spicy. You could taste the chashu's grill, and even though it was spicy it really keeps growing on you to eat more till there is nothing left. Absolutely addictive. An unforgettable experience, I cannot recommend this eatery highly enough.

I googled a ramen place nearby our apartment and found this cozy little place with plenty of good reviews. So I thought we’d try it out and see for ourselves. Ramen Karashiya was only a 9 minute walk for us and mid day with a line outside. All the table seats and counter seats were taken. Luckily we were greeted promptly and were assured a short wait for 5 persons. A few minutes wait and we were next to be seated. The vibe was great and room was a little smokey but it’s because they flame grill your chashu right there in the kitchen at the bar counter. The table was neatly arranged, fairly spacious and clean. We were fortunate to have had a waiter that spoke English and was provided with excellent service. The ramen was very rich with mustard broth and tasty with the tender grilled pork slices. The gyoza was tender and mild. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will definitely be returning for more next visit!

Wow! Spicy, garlicky ramen with charred green onions. Tremendous ramen with the charsiu- roasted pork. Local place with lunch crowd. May have to wait. Highly recommend. Cash only.

Went out here last night for dinner with my wife and daughter. We had Gyoza to start which was great, then Charsiu Pork Ramen. It was absolutely fantastic with superb broth flavour and lots of tender pork. Noodles were silky and smooth. Best Ramen we have had in Japan, it was very Oishi. My daughter also thoroughly enjoyed it and said she could not stop eating even though she was full. This place gets busy especially at lunch time and I can understand why 😊

I ordered tsukumen with grilled pork, and it did not disappoint. The noodles were firm and chewy, the dipping sauce was light, soy-based with fried onions. The set came with half boiled egg, bean sprouts, dried seaweed and menma bamboo. They have English menu so it was easy to navigate esp with the pictures. The staff were warm and nice. For next visit, need to try other menu items like their gyoza. There was also a line and shows that the place was popular. Most of the customers were also locals
