Very nice yakitori shop with good price
View on GoogleThe shop opens at 11:45 on weekdays, and I got there around 11:50. There was only 1 customer ahead of me, but while I was eating it got nearly full. I had the lunch yakitori yasai-jū (tax included) for 900 yen—a bit surprised you can eat for 900 yen these days (and in Tokyo's 23 wards at that), and I decided in my heart that if it tasted decent I'd give it ☆4 while waiting for it to be ready. As soon as I walked in, there was an old, musty smell like an old traditional house. It felt different from the smell of smoke from grilling chicken. Come to think of it, the dim café in Narashino I visited yesterday, which felt like time-slipping back to the Taishō era, smelled like this too…. (The smell) bothered me, but I thought as long as the chicken dishes were good, it's fine…. The chicken had quite a lot of salt sprinkled on beforehand and was pretty salty. I like things on the salty side so it's fine for me, but could people who watch their salt intake for health reasons eat this? I don't think it needs to be this salty. It's topped with grilled leeks, grilled shiitake, and grilled shishito peppers, all delicious. The grilling was spot-on too. The egg soup was also well done. It's a set meal of a quality you wouldn't expect for 900 yen in this day and age, so I'm rating the taste highly!
View on GoogleI usually come in the evening, but heard they've started doing lunch, so I visited. Ordered the chicken with tartar sauce set meal. The chicken, of course, and the tartar too were delicious ᩚᥫᩣ·͜·ᰔᩚ The usual yakitori is great of course, and the chicken soboro bowl is tasty too—totally satisfied whether lunch or dinner! I'm curious about the other lunch menu items, and I want to have the yakitori again. My husband, who came with me, had the motsunabe lunch. Gotta come back again soon( ◜ᵕ◝)
View on Google〇The yakitori-jū has only fairly large chicken thigh yakitori and shishito. Not much rice. It feels substantial, but with no variety you might get bored. It'd be nice to have variety like tsukune or negima 〇The chicken soup was served piping hot in a glass, so it was too hot to hold. Don't they have wooden bowls? 〇Hadn't been in a while and the menu had grown, so I got the yakitori yasai-jū. The left half is grilled shiitake, the middle has grilled leeks and big grilled chicken thigh with shishito. Shiitake might be hit or miss for some. It's vegetables, but the price is the same as the yakitori-jū. 〇Smoking allowed. Water and tea are self-service 〇Lunch is cash and PayPay only
View on GoogleFirst visit. The shop has 2 four-person tables and maybe about 10 counter seats. Small and cozy, a nice vibe. Besides the sasami sashimi and moon-viewing tsukune in the photo, I also ordered the 10-skewer grilled platter. The skewers didn't come all 10 at once but were brought out gradually, so I could eat them fresh off the grill before they cooled down—really delicious. The sasami sashimi had a clean, light mouthfeel like lean tuna akami. The moon-viewing tsukune had a rich egg yolk that matched the tsukune sauce! Everything was really delicious. Thanks for the meal. Now that COVID has calmed down, I visited again after a long time. The yakitori is as good as ever. Personally, the chicken wasabi and liver sashimi are seriously delicious! I even ordered a second round of chicken wasabi. Delicious with no misses! Thanks for the meal.
