I ordered shirayaki eel with rice, uzaku vinegared salad, drinks, and so on. Eel-bone crackers came out first, complimentary perhaps? They were fragrant and delicious. It was my first time eating shirayaki eel, and I preferred it because it was lighter than eel with sauce. Personally, the eel liver? in the miso soup was surprisingly tasty and memorable. It was also my first time trying uzaku, and the sauced eel went beautifully with the refreshing myoga and cucumber. It was very delicious.
View on GoogleAs the name suggests, this is an eel specialist, so meals are basically limited to boxed eel rice, eel rice bowls, and kabayaki. Since I'd come somewhere nice, I ordered the 'extra-premium unaju' this time. By the way, once you're seated, eel-bone crackers come with your tea. The unaju comes in a lacquered box with eel-liver soup and pickles.!! Since I ordered extra-premium this time, there were 3 large pieces of eel filling the box. It's cooked to order, so there's a bit of a wait, but the kabayaki, slowly grilled over binchotan charcoal, arrives with an irresistible smoky aroma!! The flesh is substantial yet fluffy inside, making it delicious. The sauce is light and restrained in sweetness, letting you enjoy the eel and charcoal aromas while making you want more rice.
View on GoogleAn interior full of luxury The prices are quite something too, though I wasn't the one paying😁 The sauce was light rather than sweet, so it wasn't my preference, but it was delicious. The tatami room was lovely too. The rice, clear soup, and pickles all suited my taste perfectly, I feel I'd like about 2 more pieces of pickles.
View on GoogleBoth the taste and price were good, and I had no complaints about the cleanliness or the staff's service! I'll visit again! I forgot to take a photo, but the nori was delicious too! Definitely try it as a snack while waiting for the eel to finish grilling. It may look a little far from the station, but it's a straight walk of around 10 minutes and wasn't a bother. If you're concerned, it's just a base-fare taxi ride.
View on GoogleAn eel restaurant established around 1990. I ordered unaju for 3250円. Eel-bone crackers are complimentary. The flesh is fairly thick, fluffy, and delicious. The rice is exceptionally good. The grains feel distinct and upright.
