Excellent food in a very quaint restuarant with a charming interior. The lunch selection is delicious: scallop, oyster, shrimp and seasonal vegetables. All ingredients are very fresh and you can savour the excellent combination of flavours. The crisp tempura batter is cooked to perfection and melts in the mouth. Be sure to phone ahead and reserve your place to avoid disappointment.
View on GoogleWe were able to get a last minute reservation on Saturday night. We had a private dining room, and all got the tempura set menu. The different pieces are cooked and served one by one so be prepared for a long meal - totally worth it, it was all delicious. After lots of courses of tempura we ended with a rice dish and homemade apple sorbet.

View on GoogleOn Sunday at lunchtime, I visited 「天藤」 in search of delicious tempura. I dropped in without a reservation this time, but it seemed almost fully booked. Luckily I got in, but this is a very popular restaurant, so I strongly recommend booking ahead even for lunch! I ordered 「天ぷら定食(2,000円)」 this time. I was told the set's white rice could be changed to 「かき揚げ丼」, so I chose that without hesitation. The tempura is served freshly fried, and every piece has a crisp coating and tastes superb! There are 3 options here: salt, salt + lemon, and tempura dipping sauce. As each ingredient is fried, the chef carefully explains the best way to enjoy it, saying things like “Have this one with salt” or “Lemon goes well with this one.” Being guided by a professional to enjoy each piece at its best feels luxurious, and it's so satisfying that it's hard to believe it costs 2,000円. The 「かき揚げ丼」 served at the end was also a perfect finish, with the sauce thoroughly coating the crisp batter. One thing to note: the counter seats are quite close together. You're close enough to hear every word of your neighbors' conversations, so it may not suit those seeking silence. In my case, though, the group beside me was so funny that I struggled to hold back laughter while eating. Somehow, it made for a heartwarming, homey time (haha). The chef's thoughtful attention and superb tempura at outstanding value. This is a wonderful restaurant I highly recommend to anyone who can also enjoy a slightly lively, close-knit space!
View on GoogleAn Edomae tempura restaurant where the chef fries everything right in front of you at the counter, making the live experience fun. The interior has plenty of character, and you can enjoy your meal in a calm atmosphere. The seating consists of: ・Counter: around 5〜6 seats ・A private room for 4 ・A semi-private room for 2 ・A tatami room at the back that looked like it could fit around 8 It seems versatile for different occasions. This time, I ordered **梅コース(4,500円)**. For drinks, we had oolong tea, ginger ale, and soba tea, ・Oolong tea in a stylish glass ・Ginger ale poured from a bottle into a glass with lime ・Soba tea in a wine glass The attention to style extended to the smallest details. The tempura can be enjoyed with 3 options: **salt / lemon salt / tempura dipping sauce (grated daikon)**. Tempura ・Nori-wrapped scallop The aroma of the sea and the sweetness of the scallop come together, delicious enough to win you over from the start. ・Squid Thick and satisfying, with savory flavor spreading with every bite. ・Kuwai A fluffy, starchy texture, a dish that brings New Year to mind. ・Kisu Light and delicate. Fried without any sense of oily heaviness. ・Eggplant and shishito The eggplant is juicy and meltingly soft inside. The shishito adds a nice accent too. ・Kuruma ebi (head-on) Crisp and fragrant right down to the head, very satisfying. To finish, there was shrimp and asparagus kakiage tendon, with pickles, clear soup, and salad. It even came with apple sorbet, making for a thoroughly satisfying meal. My only regret is that I was so hungry I stopped having the patience to take photos (haha). This is a restaurant I really hope you'll visit and experience with your own eyes and taste buds.
