Turret Coffee
Artsy, compact cafe offering barista-made caffeinated drinks, some with fancy latte art.
TurretCOFFEE opened a small shop in October 2013 behind Starbucks Coffee near Tsukiji Market. Its specialty is rich, full-flavored espresso without off-flavors, using 3 times the usual amount of coffee beans. Enriching the hearts of people around the world and bringing smiles with a single cup of coffee… That's the kind of shop we aim to be. It is also loved by Japanese cooks and chefs visiting the market to source ingredients. Alongside domestic customers, many visitors come from overseas, with Hollywood stars, musicians, and numerous celebrities stopping by incognito. It also has many fans from abroad. Featured in numerous media outlets, the New York Times newspaper Nation…

Turret Coffee is a tiny spot with a clear identity — their specialty is the Latte, and they own it completely. No flat white on the menu, but honestly you don't need one here. I ordered their special coffee latte with a triple shot (extra charge applies) and the result was a seriously strong, well-balanced cup. The latte art alone is worth the visit — beautifully crafted and presented with real care. Pricing is fair for the quality: Latte starts at ¥590, and with the extra shot I paid around ¥900 total. Cash and card, and — something I hadn't seen anywhere else in Japan — they actually have a tip/charity option at the counter. First time I encountered that here, nothing wrong with it, just genuinely surprised me. The space is very small. I came in during a rainy afternoon and with a few people sheltering inside it filled up fast, so I ended up taking mine to go. Honestly not a bad call — their takeaway cup is one of the coolest I've seen, made from eco-friendly recycled material with a hand-stamped design. It held up perfectly on the subway ride. Note: they don't allow photos inside, so don't expect an Instagram moment indoors. But the coffee more than makes up for it. I sipped this slowly and took my time finishing it — that's always the sign of a good cup. Small space, great coffee, fair price, unique vibe. Worth seeking out.
View on GoogleThe best coffee I've had in Japan! We ordered the Turret Latte and the Americano. Both were strong, smooth, bold and full of flavour. Yes, it's bitter but that's what we loved about it. ❤️ This place is small but very cute. Grab a seat if you can, it's quite cozy! The people who helped us were very friendly. Definitely worth the short walk from Tsukiji Outer Market. Highly recommend! ☕️
View on GoogleThe perfect spot to grab a coffee right after exploring Tsukiji Outer Market. It’s a cozy, compact cafe with an incredible vibe. The barista-made coffee was outstanding, rich, and full of flavor. Bought special coffee beans to make at home. Definitely a must-visit coffee stop if you are in the Tsukiji area!
View on GoogleA lovely coffee shop making delicious coffee. We bought a range of drinks which everyone enjoyed. I had the special Sakura latte, which was tasty. They had sadly run out of the cheesecake, so we tried the red bean paste pancake, which was nice. There is limited seating as the shop is pretty small. Would overall recommend!
View on GoogleVery good coffee in tokyo. A wood taste. Not acid, not bitter, not fruity; just perfect. We drank a cold latte and a hot latte, both 10/10 ! Also the owner is super nice and their merch is also nice!
