Cash only establishment. Delicious Yakitori establishment tucked away in a Ginza basment. English menu and friendly, professional staff who spoke good English. Enjoyed counter service as two chefs made tasty skewers all day with careful seasoning and searing. Had the enjoy set menu had a good selection of high quality ckicken, egg and vegetable dishes. A great opportunity to all parts of the chicken such as liver (set menu) and also gizzards, hearts and skin from the pick a choice menu. Customers were a mix of locals and tourists, in a clean, professional dining venue
View on GoogleThis honestly may be the best food I had in Tokyo, after being scammed by Omoide Yokocho (tourist trap), I was still looking for good yakitori and found this spot. The chicken was cooked sooo well and it was nice and juicy (I got more not just that one skewer 😂). The chicken meatballs were great too! I also decided to try the sha-ke kamameshi, and I didn’t know what to expect but wow the presentation was insane. They brought out this wooden looking box and I was completely thrown off on how to open and start eating it. But I found out the inside was like a traditional pot (metal). This was basically cooked rice with salmon on top. The salmon tasted great, only thing is I had a lot of rice leftover so would prefer more salmon pieces. Kinda sad I didn’t get time to go back for the yakitori but next time! Service was good too and I was seated at the bar so got to watch the chef making skewers!
View on GoogleAfter trying several chicken and yakitori places, I was craving it again and ended up at Torigin Honten near Ginza. Many of the staff spoke fluent English, which made ordering easy. I tried a variety of skewers, including chicken thigh, thigh with green onion, thigh with pepper, gizzard, liver, vegetables, and egg. The gizzard stood out the most, being very crunchy and meaty without any off flavours. The liver was also interesting, being mild but rich, and chicken thigh skewers were consistently good. Prices felt slightly higher than at other yakitori spots, likely due to the Ginza location, but the quality justified it. Overall, 8.5/10.
View on GoogleCASH ONLY!! One of my go to places everytime I’m back in Tokyo. I’ve been here probably 5-6 times and it always hits. Sometimes there is a line so just be mindful of the timing. Food is always a 10/10. I always get a full assortment. Downside is there is no Coke Zero so you have to run outside to 7-11 to get one.
View on GoogleA decent yakitori place for you to enjoy (they accept only cash, but you can use the great ATM machine nearby that produces wonderful sounds). That was our last Japan review for this trip.
