Tempura restaurant with 135 years of history. Small outfit with 7 counter seats and one room fit for 4. Family of 3 running the place. Tempura was good. I'm not a parsley person but the parsley tempura is too hard to miss. Recommend to reserve 2 days earlier especially for dinner.

A family owned restaurant. Pretty quiet and solemn place. They didn’t have any english menu but they only provide you with three courses to choose. Some may find the course too pricey but i think this place worth every penny, considering its history and the effort the chef put in.they use sesame oil to cook but i didn’t find it bothering or greasy. The lunch menu comes with pieces of fry and rice with a miso soup. The chef serves each piece at once. I really loved the parsley fry.

Vey fresh and good quality ingredients used at Tenmo. I came on a Friday after 1pm and two customers just finished their lunch and were leaving as I walked in. I was the only one there then. I got Lunch Set A (13,200 yen) and here are some of what was served: Two sweet shrimp Some leaf clump tempura Small butterflied fish A small whole fish A slice of another fish Baby eggplant Baby pepper stuffed with shrimp Shiitake with mashed shrimp Snow peas Big piece of sea eel that is cut into three pieces A big piece of Kakiage with sizable small shrimp inside Rice, miso soup, and pickles I am sad to report that there were no kambocha or sweet potato on the menu. You sit at a counter just opposite the chef cooking the tempura. He will wait for you to take the last bite before plunging the next item into the wok of hot oil. I was very full at the end. When you sit in the restaurant, you are transported back a hundred years. Quite an experience.

A great Japanese experience! The restaurant opened in 1885, there were no people when we arrived and the staff cooked everything just for us. Also, a lady speaks English and explaines every course. In love with this very special place, highly recommended Just consider the menu price starts at 10 000yen but it is worth it 100%
