i got the premium edomae tendon, but i think i would’ve been equally satisfied with the standard one. it had a bunch of extra stuff, like scallops and crab legs and soup, but honestly the best tempura was the tender conger eel — coated in a thick, slightly floury and underfried batter with a delicate crunch — which comes in the standard bowl as well. the tiger prawns were actually just fine — maybe even a bit too soft and seafood-y for my taste. i enjoyed the tempura egg, which has a runny yolk that eventually gets slightly cooked by the heat of the warm, fluffy rice soaked in a sweet, umami sauce. the sweet and tangy and sour tsukemono on the side was extremely refreshing with the heavy, salty flavours of the tendon. the tendon was super good , but my favourite part of the meal might’ve actually been the cantaloupe. it’s undoubtedly the juiciest, sweetest, and freshest cantaloupe i’ve ever had (literally dripping with sweet juice when you put your fork in it), and it was served at the perfect chilly temperature — very refreshing after devouring a hot, savoury bowl of rice.

I have to say this is the best tempura don I ever had. I went with my daughter and we arrived about 20 minutes ahead of the opening hour, but there was about 20 persons inline before us. We waited inline for about 50 minutes before we could get the seat. The eel and shrimp were fried perfectly, crispy on the outside while the inside is still soft. Not oily at all. The sauce was perfect, not too sweet but with a hint of saltiness. The rice was cooked perfectly as well the portion was too much for me as I was too fulled to finish the rest of the rice. I highly recommend this restaurant for any who visit Tokyo. It’s really worth the wait .

Amazing tempura with a wide variety (shrimp, squid, eel, veggies, and more!). Love the atmosphere where you can see the chef cooking right in front of you. The service was outstanding—highly recommended!

This is a very popular Tendon restaurant. I understand why, the bowls are huge and very tasty. On the other hand it was a bit too big for me, making it too heavy and oily. The restaurant itself is not so nice with grease smell. Overall it's not a bad experience but definitely not worth the wait (45min on weekday).

This place is usually very crowded but it’s worth the wait to me. Very decent tempura, and good portions for the price. It wasn’t the lightest tempura I’ve had, but some of the selection, like the shrimp and eel, were perfectly cooked and crisp. I think the staff was too busy to tend to us from how many people there were, otherwise I had a good experience!
