A small local ramen shop that specializes in shio broths. The broth was light and flavourful. The chicken was a generous portion, and the egg was decent, but I would prefer a slightly jammier consistency. Noodles were bouncy and tasty. We got their house special ramen + a miso broth house special. Both were tasty, I did find the miso a tad salty but that's my opinion. Food came quickly. We liked that there was an English menu + we paid before the meal came so we could take our time eating the ramen and not worry about waving down the waiter to pay when it got busy. It did get a bit noisy once people started coming in, but that's to be expected with the small shop. Great atmosphere though! Overall, definitely worth the price!

As first-time visitors to Tokyo, we had been following recommendations from various YouTubers and visiting some well-known ramen shops before coming here. This restaurant is close to our hotel and was not originally on our list. Compared with some of the more famous ramen places, this restaurant looks quite ordinary and is very reasonably priced—perhaps more geared toward locals than tourists. There are no fancy decorations, and the presentation of the dishes may appear simple, but for the price we paid, we really enjoyed both the taste and the relaxed atmosphere. It reminded us of the kind of simple, old-fashioned food stalls in our hometown, with a comforting sense of nostalgia. The owner is a very cool and friendly guy. Even during a short chat, we enjoyed the easygoing vibe of the place. We would definitely like to visit again the next time we are in Tokyo.

Nice Ramen! I had to taste authentic ramen here in Nihombashiningyocho! It taste really good and combo fried rice with egg. Ramen itself is ¥1000 plus plate fried rice is ¥900. Definitely will come back to this resto!

So a little history about this joint. Ramen Sugawara's been serving ramen for ~50 yrs in Hokkaido. While Asahikawa is famous for shoyu (soy sauce) ramen, this particular location in Ningyocho focuses on shio (salt) ramen. My fiancée and I arrived in Tokyo, got settled at our hotel nearby and before even unpacking anything, took a stroll on the town. We were HUNGRY after a 16-17 hr flight (the plane food also wasn't good). Walked a couple minutes away from our hotel and noticed this ramen spot. Decided to enter and was greeted warmly by the two chefs inside. 12 seats in total (8 at the counter, 4 at the tables). We sat down at the counter. We asked the chef what he would recommend and he told us about shio being their specialty so that's what we went with (I got extra chashu with my order). The ramen arrived in 8 mins. Super clear broth, thin wavy noodles, lean chashu slices and a soft-boiled egg. Admittedly, the egg was a lil overcooked for my liking - especially as far as soft-boiled eggs go - and the chashu, which was thick-cut, was a lil TOO lean imo (the extra green onion they paired it with provided a nice zing as a complement though). The soup and noodles were great though. Thin, very slurpable and the soup was clean, light and didn't make you feel guilty or heavy for crushing the broth. A very, very solid bowl of shio ramen as a first, proper meal in Japan! I belted out "GOCHISOUSAMA DESHITA" as we got up to leave and he gave me the biggest grin. Cheers mate!
