My wife found Single O on the third day of our Tokyo trip. We had been looking for a good coffee spot, but unfortunately, many cafés don't open until later in the day. This is a super cute place with a welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. The pastry was great, and the coffee was very good. Although I personally prefer my coffee a little darker, I still really enjoyed it overall. It’s a solid 4.5 but I ll give them a 5. I would definitely come back and highly recommend Single O to anyone looking for a great coffee spot in Tokyo.

7/25 weekend — Continued my on-site survey trips to Suitengūmae Station. Walking from the station to Single O cafe is a fairly long stretch, about 800 meters. This district sits right alongside the elevated expressway, with no bustling street to speak of, so the streetscape along the way is monotonous. Single O occupies the ground floor of a large building. My first impression on arrival didn’t match the main photos on Google Maps — the reason being that the Google photos capture a decorated interior art space, whereas standing outside in person you just see glass panels in black frames. It wasn’t until I stepped inside, into a room full of customers, that it clicked: the decorative pieces had been hidden from view behind the glass door. The space is cramped with few seats, and the clientele was almost entirely tourists. The air conditioning couldn’t reach the whole room — before I’d even ordered, I already felt the stuffiness. I ordered a coffee and banana cake, and there was a gap between that and what I’d been hoping for; add in the loud, upbeat music filling the room, and I had the urge to make a quick escape! Looking around, this shop runs a hybrid business model ，serving coffee and desserts by day, and food and wine for casual evening drinks by night. The reason is that this area is packed with hotels and a bus terminal offering direct routes to the airport. The owner’s choice of format has its own strategic logic — but for someone hoping to discover a hidden-gem cafe, it doesn’t necessarily live up to expectations. Visiting from AUS/NYC - and single O is reputable for their quality coffee for a reason! Loved the store design, menu options and the merch selection. The Kobe beef BAE breakfast roll is the best I’ve ever had - and the coffee is smooth as an Aussie flattie. Great to see the espresso banana bread on the menu too! ☕️🍌

We were staying at a hotel nearby and ended up coming here every morning for a whole week because we loved it so much! Everything was absolutely delicious : the pastries, bowls, sandwiches, drinks… honestly, everything was fresh and high quality. The staff is incredibly kind and welcoming, and the service is truly excellent. A big thank you to the whole team for making every morning so enjoyable! We highly recommend this place, you can go there with your eyes closed! 🤍

Had a matcha latte here and it was honestly so creamy and strong just how I like it! Haven’t tried the food yet but definitely will next time. The vibe was great, super chill with a really good playlist in the background. The staff were amazing too, especially the one who took my order. He spoke perfect English and was really friendly.
