Really delicious food and pretty good service

Too expensive and not the best service

The popular monjayaki restaurant “大木屋 匠” is on the 2nd floor of “コレド室町2,” just outside 三越前駅. Reservations are essential when visiting for dinner. The 3 of us enjoyed a 5,500円 course. The first dish served was katsuo no tataki. It did not feel particularly fresh, but tasted good with plenty of condiments. The signature rib loin steak, which looks like Ayers Rock, is seasoned so you can fully enjoy the meat's umami. I recommend having it with red wine. The steak's deliciousness surpassed its striking appearance. For the grilled seafood, the combination of shrimp and scallops with spring onions flavored with soy sauce was excellent. The seafood was high quality, but the spring onions were spectacularly delicious. The monja had a strong sauce flavor and included noodles, making it substantial. It was a course that really filled us up. It seems like a course foreign guests would enjoy too. There was a good restaurant here that I would like to visit again if I have the chance.

This is a branch of the famous 大木屋 on the 2nd floor of コレド室町2. You need a certain group size to get into the main 大木屋, but thankfully you can visit this one with just 2〜3 people. The traditional 「肉のエアーズロック」 is still here. The monjayaki, spread out widely without making an 浅草-style bank, and the other dishes are generous and very delicious. Above all, the value is excellent❗️ You're highly satisfied after eating too. I think it's just the right place for a middle-aged guy to bring younger people and treat them. I'll definitely return. You can store your jacket inside the chair, so that's fine, but be prepared for your shirt to pick up the smell. Still, I think the satisfaction outweighs that.

I had lunch at 大木屋匠 inside コレド室町2. 大木屋匠コース 5500円 A generously portioned course of カツオのたたき／肉のエアーズロック／海鮮焼き／大木屋もんじゃ／dessert. The 肉のエアーズロック was especially spectacular; apparently even the smallest size is about 500ｇ. The restaurant staff cook it for you, so there's no need to worry.
