日本橋玉ゐ コレド室町店Nihonbashi Tama I Koredo Muromachi Mise
Small restaurant specializing in conger eel with counter seats & 2 tables, plus take-out options.
The flavors of Edomae, the deliciousness of anago for everyone. 日本橋 玉ゐ(たまい) was founded as a specialist in conger eel, long cherished as an Edomae ingredient. We source wild anago from the waters around Japan at its seasonal best, and our experienced chefs bring out every bit of its flavor. With the desire to pass down the deliciousness of anago as part of Edo culture, we devote ourselves to it and hone our craft daily. In addition to dining in, the コレド室町 branch offers a wide selection of takeaway dishes. Besides the コレド室町 branch, we also operate 本店, 室町店, 人形町店, and 銀座 玉ゐ. The eel rice here is amazing, very high quality for the price, and although I haven’t been to the main restaurant that is not too far away, I am already highly satisfied with the quality of the food here. It’s the small eel, not the unagi of una-don, so the texture is even finer. Highly recommended to get the large box, prepared in 3 styles (boiled, charcoal grilled and mixed with soup). Heaven in every bite! Also they have Chinese speaking staff who explains things very clearly, special thanks to server 5! :)
View on GoogleVery delicious eel restaurant with very good prices and cute atmosphere. Friendly and excellent service by #8 helping me through the menu options (mostly just size and style of cooking (I got both preparations- broiled and braised) and way to season the eel and rice with condiments. A charming delicious find tucked away in Ginza.
View on GoogleThe anago was good, but I was a bit underwhelmed by my experience at such a well-reviewed establishment. Granted, the location with the Michelin star is the main store, but I expected a similar level of quality. Note that they have menus in English and Chinese for foreigners. The servers seem used to tourists. They were nice enough but I noticed they kept chatting to each other in full view of us, which was unusual for Japan. The location in a shopping mall was also a bit weird, since it gave off a very casual feeling that didn't match the traditional vibe of the restaurant.
View on GoogleAmazing food and very good service. It’s not unagi but anago “fish in the hole.” Very sumptuous and the medium size is a really large serving.
View on GoogleOur group was craving eel and we happened to stumble into a Michelin star restaurant. Best eel I ever had. I got half grilled and boiled. Grilled is the way to go.
