I had きりたんぽ鍋 for the first time, and it was delicious! Since I'd never eaten it before, I don't really know what the proper version should be like, but the slightly sweet soy sauce broth was very delicious! A colleague from Akita told me “seri is essential,” so I added seri as a topping. Honestly, I'd only had seri in seven-herb rice porridge, so I couldn't imagine its flavor, but to me it was like shungiku. If you're the type who can't have sukiyaki without shungiku, you should probably add seri to your kiritanpo~ The 2 of us tried 3 types of kiritanpo, and the normal soy sauce flavor was the best. If you've already tried the soy sauce flavor, I also recommend the Italian one next. It was delicious, so I'd like to visit again if I get the chance! (It was also very good value for money)
View on GoogleI went to a famous sushi place for lunch, but as expected the wait was insane .. I gave up, searched for restaurants on Google Maps, and found this place by chance. It was the most delicious food I had during my trip to Japan. I got a little lost because it's on the 2nd floor of the building, but thanks to the kind owner I had a more comfortable meal. Cash wasn't accepted, only card payments!
View on GoogleA lunchtime-only tenant in Ginza, with an elevator; payment by methods “other than” cash. You can enjoy a leisurely time here. Very delicious, but not particularly suitable for those in a hurry. The portion size is such that even some women order extra rice. It might be nice if they offered a few more small toppings?
View on GoogleAs it was getting colder, I felt like having きりたんぽ鍋 for a change, so I searched Goole map using a term I might search once a year, if that. Miraculously, I found this place serving きりたんぽ鍋 for one person. Apparently they operate in a shared rented space, serving lunch on weekdays and lunch and dinner on Saturdays. At night the space seems to be an izakaya or girls bar. There is no menu sign outside, so I went relying on the building's sign. Inside there were counter seats and sofa seats at the back. I ordered the regular きりたんぽ鍋. Since kiritanpo itself is made of rice, I wondered whether to order rice, but they said, “Some people make zosui afterward or eat it alongside,” so I added rice and waited a little. When it arrived, I thought it was mostly white in color but packed with ingredients, and that 1,200円 was cheap for a prime Ginza location. The menu said it contained 200g of vegetables, so it's healthy. The soup had a good dashi flavor and a slightly strong soy sauce taste. The vegetables, chicken, and kiritanpo were incredibly delicious. The rice was glossy too, and I was glad I'd added it. I'm curious about the spicy soup next, so I thought I'd return soon after the New Year.
View on GoogleA great new place has opened where you can easily enjoy authentic Akita regional cuisine, きりたんぽ鍋! I'm grateful they serve lunch on weekdays and lunch and dinner on Saturdays! It's wonderful to have lunch at this price in Ginza! Even if you come alone, the hot pot is a single serving, so you can enjoy a casual, healthy meal! Very handy when you want delicious vegetables in Ginza!
