No frills Hole-in-the-Wall restaurant in Ginza. I felt very welcome even though I did not understand a single word they were saying. The old lady which was a clerk and waitress was very helpful and always smiling. I had to wait around 10 minutes in line, but it was worth it. There is no menu other than a red sign written in Japanese, but I pointed to the photo on my phone and they prepared it quickly. Food was delicious and cheap - my vegetable ramen was 700 yen and it had more veggies than any other ramen I've had in Tokyo. Would come back several times to try other dishes!

Unfortunately, they stop offering lunch. From May 2018, they are opening only evening. It was the best lunch place in Tokyo. If I'm working around here, I'm sure I'll come here everyday whole year. The very best ramen in Ginza and one of the greatest ramen restaurants in Tokyo! The ramen costs just 500 yen in the middle of Ginza. Tanmen is also recommended, it's a local favorite menu. It's a taste of happiness. Chahan (Yakimeshi) costs 850 yen, relatively expensive in the restaurant but it's really good. Another really amazing menu is the Stir-fried vegetables set meal(Yasai Itame Teishoku), a dish filled with a mountain of stir-fried vegetables and some pork meat. Wonderful! If you're in Ginza at weekdays lunchtime, you should experience the happiness.

Mihara, which I loved so much. The doneness and texture of the rice, the balance of fat and seasoning in the chashu, the flavor that never wavered no matter how large the serving. There has never been fried rice like theirs, and I do not think there ever will be. Memories of the owner saying, “Come this way,” with a kind smile even when it was crowded. I want to preserve this as a record. The photo shows the last meal I had there, just after COVID began.

An old-fashioned neighborhood Chinese restaurant. A long-established place operating for over 60 years. It is run by the 2nd generation, who has been in the kitchen for 35 years. The recommendation is fried rice, a power-packed dish boldly seasoned with soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Your throat will be parched afterward, but the flavor is outstanding.

That day I had dinner in Ginza after work. I visited an old downtown-style Chinese restaurant rather than a trendy place. The restaurant's name is 中華三原. It is roughly between Higashi-ginza and Ginza stations, with an atmosphere that makes you wonder, “A place like this exists here?” The red counter inside had a lovely old-school character, and one man was running the place alone. The menu on the wall listed various noodle and rice dishes. This time I ordered fried rice. When it arrived, the portion was quite large. Chinese soup was served separately. The ingredients were simple: chashu and egg. But there was so much chashu that it made the dish very substantial. It had a firm bite and really filled me up. It seemed a little oily, but the seasoning was just right and delicious. The soup was a nice palate cleanser too, so I finished everything in a flash. It was a good restaurant. The tanmen looked delicious too, so I would like to try it. #Tokyo
