A lovely evening in a very historical (5 generations) little place specialising in excellent moist and crispy tempura accompanied by good miso and sticky rice. A very friendly establishment.

格段 ! (Apologies for English) I went here last week with a friend who spoke Japanese. The restaurant has a very mom and pop atmosphere which we like a lot. I am not eating meat or fish currently so I was hoping for a few more vegetables though I honestly didn’t mind trading tempura with my friend. Instead they said it would be a bad deal for me to do that and made extra vegetable tempura for me. They even asked my favourite which was very kind! The enoki mushroom and eggplant was my favourite. To foreigners: Stop leaving 1 star reviews when you never even tried the food. It is very disrespectful and makes us all look bad. Try to learn more of the language or find a local, it is not that hard. Please work harder to be more polite so more local places will not be so anxious to deal with us.

We were not welcome at this place and staff very rudly made us go. A disgrace to japanese gastronomy and tourism. DO NOT GO HERE!

東京メトロ有楽町線新富町駅から歩いてすぐ、大通りにひっそりと置かれたメニューの看板が目に留まりました。 店名も案内表示も何もないけど、この通りを少し北に入ったところにあったのが天ぷら築地丸中さんでした。 さっとググると明治から続く老舗の天ぷら屋さんのようです。 時間は13時30分過ぎ、お腹も空いていたので、ここでランチにすることにしました。 中に入るとカウンター7席、2人掛けテーブル1つ、小上がり8人掛けの座敷があります。 メニューをみると、天ぷら定食も天丼も1,600円。まずは天ぷら定食を食べてみたいと思い、天ぷら定食を注文。待つこと10分程で提供されました。 天ぷらは、海老2本、キス、イカ、れんこん、ピーマン、なす、かぼちゃ。 天ぷらは揚げたてのサクッサクッ、カラッとした食感で美味しいです。 定食についてきたお漬物、卵焼きなども手作り感があって美味しく、良い箸休めにもなります。 食欲アップで、あっという間に完食。最後まで美味しく頂けました。今度は天丼を食べようかな、と思いお店を出ました。ごちそうさまでした。
