Koharuken in Ningyocho is a fantastic retro yōshoku spot with a cozy, historic vibe. Their signature Katsu Don is outstanding and truly unique. Unlike the traditional style, it features bite-sized, crispy pork cutlets topped with a savory-sweet sauce, diced veggies, and a soft egg in the center. Every bite is rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. A must-try in Tokyo for any comfort food lover!
View on GoogleOne of those delicious and casual restaurants hidden in the neighborhood that all the locals know (and never tells you) Fried 🍤 shrimps, catsu curry and so many Japanese classics on offer No reservation possible, but worth a few minutes of patience to get your seat on rush time Service is so Japanese, you immediately feel home

View on GoogleIt was very delicious. However, the smell when entering the shop is unbearable. Mold? ... what is it ... (While saying that, this time I sat and ate) The floor is also slippery with oil so I was scared and walked cautiously. More than the floor of Origin Bento. Overall, cleaning is not thorough. The plants outside were also full of spider webs. Cabbage and clams are also grabbed with bare hands, I feel there is a problem with hygiene. (Part-time?, son?) Menchi was excellent, and the hamburger sauce was also delicious. Fried shrimp served to other tables were also big and looked delicious. Really, what a waste.
View on Google2026/5/27 First visit. Koharuken Special Katsudon 1500 yen. To the shop I've been longing for (≧∇≦)b✨️ A shop that has always been featured in katsu don specials since long ago 😆 Large bite-sized pork cutlets... submerged in a sauce with demi-glace as a secret ingredient and there are 6 pieces! (A gentler taste than Worcestershire) The diced vegetables felt a little sour and were very good 👍 Truly a mysterious and delicious katsu don ☺️
