I came for lunch because I was curious about the tsukemen. There were two customers inside. I ordered at the counter. The service itself was average. It seemed like the staff were Chinese. The tsukemen was seafood-based. It looked very appetizing, but when I drank the soup, it had absolutely no flavor. I thought my sense of taste might be off, but since the chashu pork was flavorful, I think the seasoning itself is just thin. There was no soup spoon (renge) provided, so I had to ask for one. I was looking forward to it because the menu was called 'Rich Tsukemen', but I couldn't finish it and left. Very disappointing. I recommend not ordering the tsukemen.

First visit just after 1 PM. A shop I've always been curious about. There's a sign on the door saying it will close on 8/22, so I'll try it once. Just as 3 people were leaving, I went in. No other customers. The room is a bit hot. I ordered the Tantanmen for 900 yen. It says you can have small rice or mapo rice for lunch, but they didn't mention anything, so I asked for small rice. They gave it to me without any annoyed look. Well, the food arrived about 3 minutes later. The noodles have a lot of kansui. They are of standard thickness. The soup is on the thin side. More than that, the toppings are interesting. It has cabbage, bean sprouts, greens, wood ear mushrooms, and carrots, so it feels like a tanmen. It's not as much as a tanmen, but there are quite a lot of vegetables. The soup has a kick of Sichuan pepper. It feels ordinary, but somehow it's good. It's a strange feeling. It's delicious. I felt like I wanted to try it again.

Once every two months in Kayabacho, this time I walked around a bit to explore new places. It's right near the Kayabacho intersection, but since it's in a small alley, it's not very noticeable, and at first glance, the shop's appearance is a bit intimidating, so you might pass it by, but the lunch menu is placed outside shyly, so please gather your courage and enter. The atmosphere has a few people at the counter and 3-4 tables facing each other, but it was almost full. It turns out there are seats on the second floor too, so it has quite a capacity. I ordered the 'Shoyu Tsukemen Zenbu-nose' (large noodle portion). Thinking about it, I wouldn't know the potential of their Chinese cuisine with this, so I added 100 yen for a 'Small Mapo-don'. It seems like a menu that can be set for free if you don't increase the noodle portion, but since I wanted to eat a lot, it's fine. As expected of 'Zenbu-nose' (all toppings), there are 3 pieces of quite delicious chashu and a seasoned egg accompanying the noodles. The large portion for an extra 100 yen is reasonable... or maybe even generous. The dipping sauce is based on shoyu tonkotsu with added katsuobushi powder. It's just normally delicious. Thinking about the deliciousness of the chashu seasoning, I regretted that I should have ordered the 'Sichuan Tantan Tsukemen', but on the other hand, when I ate the 'small' Mapo-don, I felt I caught a glimpse of this shop's true ability. The taste of the Mapo was excellent. The numbness from the Sichuan pepper comes first, but after that, the Mapo Tofu asserts its deliciousness without unnecessarily showing off spiciness. Plus the small portion of rice that makes you want to eat more!! I enjoyed it. While drinking Shaoxing wine, I was tempted to try their individual dishes, and the dipping sauce diluted with soup and the Mapo-don made for a good finish. Thank you for the meal.

[2025.4] Sichuan-style Sour Ramen (970 yen). For some reason, it's not on the ramen menu, but listed on the closing rice menu 😲 I wonder if many people don't notice. In addition to the sharp spiciness & acidity, there is a stimulating numbness typical of Sichuan style that is very addictive 😋 The noodles are slightly flat, medium-curly noodles, and the soup flavor transfers well. The shop and menu are quite attractive, so I want to visit again 👍️

I ate Tantan Tsukemen yesterday and it was very delicious, so today I ordered Sichuan Tantanmen. This was a high-quality Tantanmen that is far different from the cheap-tasting Tantanmen you get at ordinary Chinese restaurants. I think this is a shop where you can also expect good Shoyu Ramen and Miso Ramen.
