Located in the fish market area of Tokyo, Kakigoya is an absolute gem for seafood lovers. From the very first bite, the oysters are simply outstanding — incredibly fresh, plump, juicy, and bursting with that pure, clean ocean flavor that only truly fresh seafood can deliver. Every dish reflects the quality of the market and a deep respect for the ingredients. You can genuinely taste the freshness in every bite — nothing feels processed or overcomplicated. This is seafood at its finest, simple and authentic. Beyond the exceptional food, the service makes the experience even more special. The owner is truly wonderful — warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what she serves. She makes you feel welcome from the moment you arrive, adding a personal and heartfelt touch to the entire meal. If you are in Tokyo and looking for unforgettable oysters and remarkably fresh seafood, Kakigoya is a must-visit. A simple, authentic, and absolutely delicious experience.
View on GoogleCame at 10:00 am on a Tuesday and had no line like most of the places except one at the corner. Had oyster (600 yen, 1pc), scallops (1000, 2pcs) and nigiris (3400, 5pcs) for a total of 5000 yen which seemed to be the common price throughout the market. Everything was great, would recommend
View on GoogleDelicious seafood. Counter height tables/seating inside. We got the tuna which comes with 6 pieces of nigiri (2 toro, 2 chutoro, 2 otoro), salmon nigiri, and whole king crab leg (6000 yen). Also got the butter soy sauce scallops from the front. So good and so fresh.
View on GoogleI love that there's a back room so our group had a place to enjoy their delicious food! The oyster with sake shot was sooo good. Must try.
View on GoogleThe draw for this shop was the grilled king crab legs out front (¥6000)! I ordered the fresh oyster with salmon roe (ikura) and sea urchin for ¥2000. Fresh and delicious!
