A park I stumbled across on the way to Tokyo Station. I wondered why one end was lit up, and found this exhibit. You can see the kabuto (helmets) for each district. They're decorated with gold work, and the craftsmanship is just incredible. Worth a look. I'd love to come again when it's sunny.
View on GoogleThis is the Kabutocho/Kayabacho Machikado Exhibition Hall inside Sakamotocho Park. Items related to local history, mikoshi, and more are displayed and stored here.
View on GoogleMikoshi are generally kept in storage and can only be seen once a year, but here they're behind glass so you can see them anytime. Mikoshi are expensive too, so I worry they might be damaged by sun exposure, but if possible, I'd be happy for local treasures to keep being shown openly.
View on GoogleYou can casually experience Japanese culture for free, so foreigners who come near here should stop by. It's beautiful.
