Enjoyed the skewers after a long day of travelling. A great way to spend the evening, and there were some rather unique looking items that I haven’t tried before. A great way to try some contemporary Japanese food!

The yakitori was absolutely solid, particularly the cartilage and skin. Loved the well judged level of salt and smokiness, and ended up ordering seconds of everything. Some of the snacks and grilled items missed the mark but the overall menu showed good range and creativity. The ladies on the second floor were friendly and kind, which directly contrasted with the first floor staff’s strange lack of engagement even when it was empty. Most “foreigners” actually understand common greetings and are keen to reciprocate accordingly; it should be standard to be at least acknowledged with a welcome and goodbye—rather than a stare—when visiting the restaurant.

We were recommended Itten Bari when another restaurant we went to was full, and they did not steer us wrong! The atmosphere was wonderful, they had a great selection of drinks, and I can’t say enough about the food! Definitely order the clay pot rice if you’re looking for a more filling dish, and you have to try the thick-cut pork too!
