This is the first time for us to go in an oyster bar and I think that after tonight we'll definitely repeat the experience! We arrived at the restaurant and there was no seat left. They asked us to come back in 10 minutes and warned us that we would have had to eat at the bar. "Awesome!" we thought as we love that!! As we are not too familiar with oysters we ordered 5 pieces, one for each type on the menu (minus one). We enjoyed the raw ones and could tell they were fresh. It's the cooked ones that really won us over, with the fried one being probably the winner. The staff recommended us to order sake and after having tested it we can recommend it to whoever is reading this 🙂 The staff in general was gentle and helpful. They gave us plenty of advice about how to eat each thing we ordered. The flambé at the bar for the gratin oyster was a very nice touch. We also enjoyed the spice they added to the fries.
View on GoogleHigh quality of oysters & various cooking methods’re available here. Every time we come to Tokyo, this is the top ranked place for having oysters. Really value for money.
View on GoogleForeigners beware: at the beginning they gave us a seaweed/kelp broth and said it was complimentary. At the end there was an extra charge of 990 yen with a quantity of 2. When we asked what it was they said it was for the appetizer. I didn’t want to argue as I am visiting a foreign country but they literally said it was complimentary. Otherwise we would not have eaten it! What a scam. They also have a separate English menu which I’m sure is upcharged from the original Japanese menu but I didn’t have time to check. They seem to not treat us as well as the other Japanese customers. English menu is still confusing to order oysters and they do not try and explain. Maybe it was also that we came late and wanted to rush us out but still I have experienced the high standard of customer service that is usually known in Japan and this was not it. Never coming back and highly recommend you go somewhere else. Food is nothing to write about either. Pretty sure there is much better food for cheaper than this place.
