Local small Chinese restaurant. All the food was nice and grandma working there is super sweet. Good quick lunch or dinner. Cash only and very affordable.

This was my first visit. I'm grateful this restaurant opens at 5. Tsukishima has so many monja restaurants that finding somewhere to eat alone is difficult. First, a bottled beer. Kirin Lager. I wanted ramen, so I ordered garlic tanmen. The tanmen had a nice salty flavor. It contains garlic, but isn't that intense. Garlic lovers might find it lacking. For me, it was just right.

Tanmen packed with garlic I sometimes crave the garlic tanmen at Hama-chan, a neighborhood Chinese restaurant in Tsukishima. It's loaded with garlic. A fairly large bowl filled with vegetables and pork. On the spectrum from crisp to soft, it leans slightly crisp, with a nice level of stir-frying. The slightly emulsified soup combines plenty of garlic with vegetable umami. Unlike garlic added afterward, this garlic flavor sinks into your body. The medium-thick Chinese noodles have a firm chew that holds its own against the intensely garlicky soup. Chili oil is also delicious for changing up the distinctly punchy garlic broth. Garlic tanmen ¥850- Location: about a 5-minute walk from Tsukishima Station

On my first visit, I ordered ramen & a half portion of fried rice (1150 yen). Despite its dark broth, the ramen was light with a wakame flavor. The half portion of fried rice was fluffy egg fried rice with separate grains, generously sized, and very delicious.

I visited for a late lunch! The people at the restaurant were very nice. The portions were generous too, so I was very satisfied! I'd like to go again.
