Rude place, did not even acknowledge our existence at all until we just left. Wouldn't even so much as look up at us despite the place being completely empty. If they were closed the least they could do is acknowledge us and let us know we can't stay.

Ordered 海老天丼 for 1980円. ◆Location…☆☆☆ A 3-minute walk northeast from Mitsukoshimae Station. A little north of the wide, shop-lined National Route 17, facing the lively old Nikko Road lined with offices, on the 1st floor of a substantial 10-story office building. ◆Layout and interior design…☆☆☆ The interior is somewhat small, with a 7-seat U-shaped counter immediately upon entering and the kitchen in front of it. There's a private room to the right with 2 tables seating 4 each. Perhaps because it's on the 1st floor of a new building, the ceiling is high, and the Japanese-style interior feels upscale. Unpainted light wood is used throughout, including the lattice doors and around the counter, creating a calm, comfortable space. ◆Operation and atmosphere…☆☆☆ There were 2 men? in the kitchen and 2 women serving customers. There were many customers of various ages, and the place was lively. The older lady who seemed to be the manager had a way of speaking and an air that somehow reminded me of Kirin Kiki. It was raining heavily that day, and she was kind enough to carefully fold the umbrella I'd carelessly set down. There was no background music; you could hear wind chimes, tempura frying, and customers talking. ◆Food…☆☆☆ First came pickles. They consisted of carrot, turnip, and takuan, all with a gentle, slightly rustic flavor that helped ease the tension. Next was a dark red miso soup. The broth had a touch of sansho but a soft miso flavor, mild rather than strong despite its color. At ordinary restaurants, the shijimi clam meat is usually so tiny that it's a hassle to pick out and eat, but here it was large enough to enjoy properly, thick and still pleasantly springy. The broth and ingredients of this miso soup alone reaffirmed the restaurant's quality. For the 海老天丼, a staff member asked, “Would you like a larger portion of rice?” so I said, “Just a little extra, please.” The reply included the amusing comment, “My idea of a little is quite a lot,” showing humor as well as elegance. The toppings were green beans, onion, sweet potato, and 2 large prawns. The vegetables were fresh and lightly fried, retaining their juiciness when bitten into and tasting delicious, while the prawns were springy and satisfying. I don't usually like tempura at ordinary restaurants because it's often greasy and leaves me uncomfortable afterward, so it's nice that a good place like this doesn't cause that, perhaps thanks to the quality of the oil. The sauce was light and not excessive, keeping the overall bowl's flavor mild, which I appreciated. ◆Value…☆☆☆☆ Good value. With its proximity to the station, location on the 1st floor of a new building, and calm interior, I could enjoy food a cut above the ordinary for under 2000円. I'd like to order a different menu item next time.

A tempura restaurant among the office buildings of Nihonbashi. Tempura courses are available at lunch and dinner, and tendon is also available at lunch. Tendon is 1,980円 including tax, and the kakiage rice bowl is 2,200円 including tax. Alongside kakiage, the kakiage rice bowl is topped with vegetable tempura such as eggplant, bell pepper, and sweet potato. The bowls also come with pickles and red miso soup. The tendon is delicious, but I'd also like to try a tempura course.

Edo-style tempura” Visited for a group meal. It's a new location after a move, but somehow it has a Showa feel. We used a private room that seats 7. The tempura is fried by the son of the 89-year-old master chef. The tempura was incredibly delicious! We were lucky enough to eat anago caught in Haneda👍 The staff were also very kind, and the service was perfect. An excellent restaurant that makes you want to return.
