Interesting decor that’s stuck in the 1940s. Place is cramped but cosy. Foodwise… there’s minimum order per pax. 1 main and 1 drink. That’s a sad requirement to dine here. Curry is nice BUT note that it’s beef curry. Restaurant failed to mention or highlight this and it’s bad for people who cannot or dislike beef. The Tonkatsu or fried pork loin is rather small. I had 2 cos I know it’s going to be small and thin. If you are looking for the premium thick slice tonkatsu, this isn’t the place to go. The 3-in-1 comes with a hamburger which is pretty juicy, an ebu tempura that looks good and a plain omelette which faked us, cos we all thought it was going to be an omurice with meat.
View on GoogleThe set menu here is a great way to experience the kitchen. It comes with a soup, a salad, a starter of your choice, and a main. I went for the ビーフカツサンド (beef katsu sandwich) and it was absolutely phenomenal. My one small gripe is that the portion size feels a touch modest for the price, but the quality more than makes up for it. Don’t sleep on the クリームソーダ (cream soda). I was genuinely surprised by how good it is. The combination of fizzy soda and vanilla ice cream sounds simple, but it really works. The interior is cozy and welcoming, spotlessly clean, and the restrooms were immaculate. Service was attentive and prompt, almost a little too prompt, as it occasionally felt like they were eager to turn the table. Nothing that ruined the experience, but worth mentioning. One thing to note: this is a Western-style establishment, so you’ll be eating with fork, knife, and spoon rather than chopsticks, a small but charming detail. Overall: A lovely spot with excellent food and atmosphere. The value could be slightly better given the portion sizes, but if you’re after a quality meal in a comfortable setting, it’s well worth a visit.
View on GoogleHonestly, the portions are mediocre, especially considering the Ginza price tag. The 'historical' curry was underwhelming—it’s basically just sauce with some minced meat. What’s worse is the mandatory 'one drink + one main dish' policy, which feels like a cash grab. The staff's attitude was lukewarm at best. If you're actually hungry, be prepared to finish every single strand of the side cabbage and salad just to feel full. Definitely not worth the money
View on GoogleIf you're in the area you just have to try the katsu curry. They're credited for the creation of the dish back in the 40s and it definitely shows. They also have a craft ginger ale which if you're a ginger enjoyer you have to try. Amazing food and great service with very friendly staff.
