There's a mandatory starter that costs 500 yen and additional tax they didn't tell us about. The calculations on the receipt don't add up, and we left feeling scammed. The food was ok - not bad, not great.
View on GoogleThe place seemed fine enough and the restaurant owner was really friendly, so my husband and I went in, even though the place was suspiciously empty and we were asked to take no pictures at all. We left feeling scammed. The food (tofu with rice and chicken bento) wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great either, and we weren’t given a proper menu. After we finished, we were charged 7500 yen for the both of us. The language barrier made it virtually impossible to dispute the price. I suppose the fake friendliness and a free umbrella made the owner feel better about herself. Definitely our worst experience in Tokyo so far; I deeply regret entering this place because it only cost us way too much money which could otherwise be spent on something else.

View on GoogleVisited on May 22, 2025 (Thu). A Beijing cuisine restaurant I happened to find roughly halfway between Shimbashi Station and Ginza Station. The exterior looked quite worn, and the suspicious atmosphere with nobody inside drew me in. Inside there was no background music and no customers, so it was very quiet. I wanted something a little spicy, so I ordered mapo tofu. The mapo tofu that arrived after a while was really delicious! We also had spring rolls, gyoza, and spicy karaage afterward, and everything was delicious! We finished with suanlatangmian🍜, which the staff described as very popular. This place is a winner🎯! Payment is cash only, so Minato residents who carry only cards, please take note!
View on GoogleA long-established Beijing cuisine restaurant in Ginza with a varied lunch menu. A Beijing restaurant with the look of a neighborhood Chinese eatery, its red sign catching the eye along Nishi-Ginza-dori in Ginza 7-chome. Surprisingly uncrowded even at lunchtime. That day it was just past noon, with only 1 customer already there. I sat in a cool spot near the air conditioner and received a menu. The staff told me about various recommendations. Prices are a little high given the location. It was a very hot day, so I decided on something chilled. ▪️Chilled soba 1,400円(tax included) ・Soy sauce flavor, sesame sauce flavor, chilled tantanmen There are 3 flavors. I chose tantanmen without hesitation. Noodles and toppings piled high over sesame tantan broth. Minced meat, cucumber, bean sprouts, tomato, nuts, white sesame. A nice broth with the mild heat of chili oil and sesame flavor. A gentle taste that seems easy to enjoy even if you don't like spicy food. On the positive side, it would probably appeal to everyone, but personally I wanted more punch and heat. The portion was neither too big nor too small. I finished it feeling like I could eat a little more. The staff's service was pleasant. There are plenty of noodle and rice dishes too, so I'd like to try some others.
